Sort of like solar, wind and oil industries that are all also subsidized?Nuclear is something people who know nothing about nuclear power generation point to, to sound smart. ...and I say this as someone who routinely works with nuclear power plants developing their emergency response planning.
Nuclear is going out of business organically because they can't profitably generate the power without major government subsidies. The age of the people working in the regulatory apparatus for these plants are mostly over 60; You can say "nuclear" until you're blue in the face, but it just isn't gonna happen; the talent pipeline largely just doesn't exist anymore.
