1) The annoying turn signal sound. Even if you went to an old school sound, it would be better than the heavy bass sound we have now. Or give us a choice, like we have for ring tones on our cell phones!;
2) Regarding the Proximity Locking feature, although it’s great that we can choose to disable it when the vehicle is at home, I’ve found I can’t trust the feature at all. I’d like to use the feature, but the distance from the vehicle the phone key is when the vehicle unlocks seems inconsistent. I realize there are variables that may result in some inconsistency. However, if the system could be programmed to require the phone key to be within 10-15 feet of the vehicle I believe it would be a more secure feature. I have a street level office which faces a City street with a lot of pedestrian traffic. During work hours, I park my vehicle in a private area behind my office. After hours, I’ll often park in front of my office. The distance from that area to the front door is 40 feet. Directly inside is a waiting area. There have been times, in the evening that I am sitting in the waiting area making a call before I leave only to open the front door to see that my R1T is unlocked. Then, there are times it’s not. I’ve tested it by walking to the front window and watching it unlock. Sometimes it doesn’t. I don’t see the need for it to unlock from 40-50 feet away;
3) Back to the turn signal. It would be nice if, when using it as a change of lane signal, once you’ve changed lanes and you manually disengage it, the turn signal lever would meet with sufficient resistance so as to let you know you’ve disengaged it without the lever moving so far back the other way so as to deploy the opposite signal. The way it is now, if I signal right for a lane change, make the change, then go to move the lever back, I find a lot of times if I use too much force, I’m now signaling left. If I don’t use enough force, I’m still signaling right. This distracts from driving.
There are far, far more things I love about this vehicle than irritates me about it. I don’t mean to be petty. I wonder what other little things other people have found that if changed would make them happy?
