PSA on Loose Underbody Shield Bolts

Both, it seems. The problem may be worse for the standard panels since there seem to be more of them, so a couple missing bolts is all it takes to lose a panel on the highway or while crossing water (see forum posts about this). The RUS appears to be a larger contiguous piece that might withstand having more bolts loose or missing.

Thankfully no jack is required unless you're a huge person. Set the mode to Off Road and the suspension to Highest. I love this truck!

I had mine tightened but I'm debating whether locktite is necessary. I heard that locktite can be detrimental if the bolts ever need to come off in the longer term for any type of service. Some people even put anti seize instead but ofc torqued to the appropriate tightness.

Also look at the plastic trim pieces behind each rear tire. This is where we had several screws sheer off. We’re not the only ones. Rivian is aware of the issue. Literally happened on the third day we had the truck.

also, they only sent three fasteners when more were needed but tech thinks "the missing ones probably won't matter on securing the panels"
