Just saw this auction close earlier today at $100,500, and when you add the site's fee of $4500 it totals $105k. That represents a premium of around $7k vs current pricing for the same configuration (including spare tire and first aid kit). And that's not taking local taxes into account. Not too bad if you ask me...

Almost guaranteed those two $40K+ knucklehead bidders think they're bidding on the vehicle not the "reservation" even though that fact is clearly spelled out in the item description.

Ever been to Mecum? A buyer's premium is common practice and somethng that is easy to take into account when bidding.

Expect to see R1S prices comedown the similar range and percentage as R1T has. It may take a bit longer but it will since more and more will be put up for sale.

Thanks to Rivian, they have put a floor on the prices by telling the world that they will honor the pre-March pricing. So for new(ish) vehicle, it will probably command a small premium over the pre-March prices, once the supply increases.
