That rounded front for pedestrian safety instead of a cool angular look makes the whole design disjointed. You have two different styles poorly blended together between the sides and the front and back.

That’s the real reason you can’t have super angular front ends. You’ll cut a jaywalker in half if they aren’t careful. We can’t have cars like that driving around, so they have to remove the sharp angles from the front and turn the back into a dumpster. It’s the difference between what the ideal cybertruck would look like and this realized version to comply with safety requirements.

Actually, with that great of a slope on the windshield combined with armored glass, the CT should have exceptional resistance to broken windshields.
Oh boy

Except for large ball bearing impacts.

There is just so much about the design of this truck that's just incredibly dumb. Sight lines have to be absolutely awful. The rear glass is like a sliver and is blocked completely if the tonneau is closed. The relatively high beltline is going to result in massive blindspots. The only sightline that won't suck for the driver is forward. They will be an absolute nightmare to park, and if you pair that with the fact that this will likely be the first truck for many owners, it's going to be ridiculous in parking lots and at chargers.

What does throwing 2lb solid steel balls square at the side windows how to do with broken windshields from rocks hitting at a steep angle?

According to reports on this forum, Rivian windshields are extremely cheap and damage prone from even tiny pebbles.

So heinous. Can't wait to see these train wrecks in person.

Hey Franz, I head the rear windows are stronger…

Someone mentioned something about “armoured glass”…oh wait, that was you.

It was an ironic statement given the own (Rollerball) goal Elon & Franz scored that night.

Are there exterior door handles? Not great when you are trapped inside an armored stainless cage with a giant battery underneath.

The CT is such a design train wreck, I still think this is some long term Musk LOL (like Dumb and Dumber To ....)

The laughable design language isn't even consistent within itself, this is literally a 5 year old drawing a PEW PEW FUTURE TRUCK :CWL:

This is going to be a huge thing with people who have never owned a ~230" long vehicle. That's almost 3 feet longer than popular mid-sized SUVs. It would not even fit in our garage (well, on the "closed" side). I can't wait to see the constant reports of collisions in Starbucks parking lots :D

OK, so all that being said, we know Tesla has killer drivetrains, solid tech (FSD notwithstanding), and a completely dominant charging network and experience. I'm sure those will continue, as well some of the other silly choices like a yolk without variable rate steering.

FWIW, we currently own an M3P, I might consider a Plaid in the next 6-12 months but a LOT of things have to occur (at least one has, an OEM round wheel option), so I'm still in the mode of the best vehicle for our use case/safety/convenience, i.e., no specific brand cult-ish-ness.

Ya, and? Once again the windshield propensity of surviving rock damage has literally zero to do with the steel ball demo.

How reflective is the unpainted stainless steel exterior going to be? Is it brushed enough to not be blindingly reflective? It's hard to tell from the photos and videos that are available so far, but I'm at least a little concerned that these things will be blinding in direct sun and could cause accidents because of it.
