Just got my 8 Step email, I'll be starting it tonight and I'll let you know my R1S vin as well.

EDIT: My vin is 54XX 21' FG/BM with Shield

EDIT #2: I completed the first 7steps just waiting on them to approve the documents. But if anyone cares, my insurance had to manually add the vehicle because the VIN was only available in the national registry. But They quoted me $710 for 6 months, while Rivian quoted me $1100!
What's your Insurance?

What's your Insurance?
Progressive ( As the insurance, not the agent ) . But I also have multiple policies with them, so that contributed to a lower rate as well.

Is that expensive? The going rates seem to vary a lot

Yeaah it seems on par with other cars of the same value here in Illinois, but the Rivian quote was a bit high.
Remember, there are advantages using Rivian insurance

There really is no "normal". Vehicle specific quality issues may impact when it leaves the factory, frequency of rail shipments will impact transit time, there may be in-transit damages to repair once the vehicle arrives at the service/delivery center, etc. You should definitely expect a minimum of several weeks from when your 8 steps opens up until delivery. It should be obvious but how quickly you complete the steps can only slow down the process, not speed it up.

For reference, I got my 8 steps email on 2/6. My Guide finally reached out to me yesterday and I should hopefully be able to schedule delivery within the next few days. So, in my case and assuming the Dallas center doesn't have to fix anything prior to delivery, I should be taking delivery about 1 month after receiving the 8 steps email.

thank you. Guess I shouldn't expect anything from them for another couple weeks. Exciting for another R1s in dallas area. I only see one so far.

I'm not up to date on how the VIN decodes I assume we are all dropping the last 4 digits and masking the last two? I got my 8 steps 2 days ago, went through a lot of the steps since and have everything, but the insurance and the final payments done. My VIN is 60xx

When I talked to the guide today he said mine was on the line, had a few days left to complete the build, then figure a week or so for QC and loading to rail and then 1-2 weeks rail to Virgina. I'm hoping to take delivery around end of the month which is on the earliest side of my latest delivery window (April-May)

Just got the news from my guide this morning my car is on transit to Dallas. However my page is currently said

Your vehicle is currently moving through final quality checks. We’ll reach out once your delivery is ready to schedule.

Is that means it is already here and go thru final local QA?
