50W includes DC to AC loss for a different inverter. The Rivian's inverter likely uses much more. Also it was instantaneous power use rather than averaged over on/off cycles. Your test will very much depend on external factors (ie ambient temps, set temps, content temps, etc)

I think we've beaten to death the topic around this cooler in a 13p thread. I disagree with the video when on long road trips. Best not to use the 120v. The inverter wastes energy. Just use the 12v lighter. It's on when you're driving.

On long trips where you just have water or drinks in there yes the 12v is better for daily use the 120v plug lets you enable the outlets when you need the cooler like mid day shopping trips where you have fresh and frozen stuff . Otherwise every time you get in the truck or it unlocks the 12v will power up and waste power.

Alas frunk is no option for me as I don't have the 12v there. Apparently those are making a comeback in R1s deliveries from posts I see here.
