So the "carabiner" is pretty terrible, a slight pull and it unlock and falls off anything you loop it around. When I first got my truck I was running around with my kids in a field and realized the fob was gone. Luckily found it in the grass. Now that proximity unlock is a thing and my fold4 bluetooth constantly looses connection I'm going to go back to carrying the fob.
Before I bust out the mill and machine up a locking tab I was wondering if anyone else came up with a slick method for retention?

I have my fob in a small loop ring that also has 2 other keys with it that i carry along. I added a tile tracker with them so i have a way to find it if i don't remember where i last left it. I was also thinking of using a small zip tie tied to the carabiner loop and the ring.

I carried the fob for two months but never used the carabiner due to the reasons mentioned.

However, the biggest improvement is the PaaK, which has been very good since the late 2022 OTA updates. I still have the keycard in my wallet as a backup.

Maybe replace the spring with a stronger one?

Built Right Industries were working on a new fob design and they confirmed to me some months ago that they would indeed release it but it's no longer on their website...

I wanted this as well. I wonder if it will come back with the new update?

Interesting, I keep mine looped to a belt loop on my jeans all the time, 6months ownership, never had it come off, holds well and doesn't open up as easily as you describe. It's my default key, with a card in my wallet as backup because PAAK is hit or miss.

The FOB itself is easily removable from the "carbiner," There is one screw underneath the battery cover. The trick to remove it is to pull up on the silver clip and pop it out with you finger. (The fob doesn't slide up & out.) Silver clip HAS to be pulled up. I had intentions of firing up the mini mill and making something early on but lost interest. One easy fix once removed is to simply pin the fob so it doesn't open with a small screw. I may do that.
