I am very surprized at the number of people that have not been outraged by the feeble nav. system in the Rivian. Mine has been delayed AGAIN, but my buddy's cam and we have been seeing how poorly Alexa is. My Tesla nav system can find ANYTHING. If I as for a restaurant, it shows me ALL of the locations of that restaurant. If I need to find a Drs. Office I tell it to navigate to that Drs. office and Tesla gives me the option to call him! Some young kid said "just enter the address by hand". Dude, I dont KNOW the address. I dont care what any of you Tesla X haters say, mine if fabulous, and the Nav system is a HUGE part of my driving experience. Rivian might be able to handle boulders, but my boulders are getting to where Im going every day.

Uh - I’m glad you like your model X ĀÆ\_(惄)_/ĀÆ. Teslas nav sucked too and has steadily gotten better, as will Rivian’s. They added google search to the nav in the last release -

It sounds like you should just stick with your Tesla and leave the big scary world out there to the rest of us. I’m sure someone will happily take your Rivian reservation when you cancel.

Maybe there hasn’t been any fake outrage here because this forum is mostly populated by adults. Stating that isn’t any amount of concern over the R1’s nav means you haven’t been reading these forums. That concern has been expressed since the first trucks hit the road. We all know it’s sub par..

Your major concern appears to be Nav search and that was fixed just last week by adding Google Search.

And why the Gen Z dig in your title. Everyone wants to pick on the kids.

The UI, Nav, lack of carplay and AA have been called out hundreds of times on these forums...not sure what you are talking about...

You do understand that many of these elements are going to get ironed out as time passes on....

I don't get the Generation tinge either - we all want a better UI...

I’m constantly surprized at the number of people who rely so heavily on Nav that their life experience is destroyed by its weaknesses. The sun rises in the east, sets in the west. Roads have street signs.

Okay boomer, why don't you learn how to navigate with your brain and paper maps.

This post just feels like it was written to intentionally inflame to get more interaction and eyes on it.

And if you don't know the address, maybe, just maybe, you could get that by calling the doctor's office? I know talking to people on the phone is scary.

Even before this latest release that put in Google search, you could send an address from your phone Google maps to the Rivian. The Nav isn’t a problem anywhere near your fear mongering post.

Some people are so entitled that this minor shit seems like the end of the world to them. I’d rather have a slightly spotty nav than a car that looks like a rolling egg with a stupid ass yoke where a wheel should be. Hell I’d rather use a paper map than the rolling egg.

The search function is noticably better since the google update. Very happy about that. Prior to that it was like plugging a search into an old school gps, with no smart language model behind it to predict what you are actually looking for.

Not Gen Z. Nav works fine. Better soon once the search is powered by Google. Worst case I can search on my phone and send to the vehicle.

Go enjoy your Tesla, Boomer.

I actually had it not work at all the other day. Searching for anything was just blank. Haven't used it since then though, I don't typically need to on my day-to-day and when I do, I'm pre-loading the location with my phone before even getting to the truck. It's just so much easier to do that and give all of my attention to the device instead of trying to multitask.
