Do you ever tip your mobile service tech? If so, when and how much?

I haven't had a mobile service visit yet, but I do something for the Service Center guys. I taped a $50 Starbucks gift card to the console - with a thank you note - when they hauled my R1T to the Service Center. When I visit the Service Center in person, I always bring a box of donuts or cookies for their break room. My experience is that the service guys are often under appreciated... small gestures of appreciation go a long ways towards good will.

Edit: another option is to send a note of Job Well Done to Rivian that names the service techs that worked with you. These typically get acknowledged and mean something to the crew.

No, the tipping culture is getting out of hand.

I scheduled my ATL appointment today for some warranty work, I like this idea...I may have to bring some doughnuts!

Please stop with tipping everyone. Companies should be paying their employees living wages.

I prefer Rivian pay its employees an appropriate wage. Given that Mobile Service Tech is a skilled position in a market short of such employees I assume they are well compensated.

I will tip for "above and beyond". I will preheat a vehicle in winter and if its particularly cold I will arrange the vehicle in the garage so that it is convenient to work on out of the wind.

Courtesy and thinking/asking about what a service provider needs to do their job goes a long way.

I have not had a mobile Rivian tech yet but when the Tesla mobile techs came by if they were on time, courteous, and successfully completed the appointment, I would give them enough money to buy lunch. (Bought them lunch 3 out of 3 times).

I bet you also complain when companies charge "too much" for their products and services

I disagree with this sentiment. Happy to pay more to end the tipping culture and have people paid a fair wage. Fair wage shouldnt be contingent on the whim of the customer.
