Some of Rivan's order-holders are losing hope
Insider has spoken or corresponded with nearly three dozen current and former Rivian order holders in recent months.

Several said the company offered test drives in their area over the past year, to encourage them to stay patient. But for many (who are often also shareholders that date back to the company's blockbuster IPO), it's the stock price sinking, the wait, and now the company going back on early promises that sting.

The final straw for Pao has been Rivian's inability to deliver the Max pack, a 400-mile range battery, with the quad-motor this year. Once that change was made, Pao received a notice that he would get a new delivery window estimate, for a dual-motor vehicle, in late February, but that has been delayed to April.

Makes a lot of sense, if you’re not in a rush and want to get in line for something you like. We have a deposit on an Ocean (I’ll lol if that ever gets built), will probably get in line for a Gravity, and are absolutely planning to somehow get on a list for the idBuzz if that actually opens up.

My R1S order was bumped to "don't call us, we'll call you" (end of '24) … that's a pre-IPO pre-order …

I have an R1T from a 'day one' (Nov 2018) pre-order … glad I didn't agree with the Guide to "wait and see, should be real s00n now" for the max pack, kitchen and winch … : )

Yep. I (STUPIDLY!) passed on a Lightning Pro order shortly after getting the R1T … the Pro is now either "not available" or when it is available, the price has gone from the original $41,769 to $61,869 (FFS!) and Ford, unlike Tesla, has no notion of fixed price order … you pay the market price or you walk and someone else gets the vehicle you waited years to receive … and their willingness to pay any price is what sets the market price … so the damn F-150 "Pro" is a total pro-stitute … 50% price gouge in less than 12 months.
Ford, f me once, shame on me, f me twice … well, you … can't get f'd again."

Instead of having nothing and or not getting the options I want I am holding onto my reservation for exactly the truck I want and picked up a used launch edition in the meantime. Win/win

Haven't clicked on the article, but this is literally me. I have reservations and/or deposits down for a Silverado EV, regular ICE Silverado, Cybertruck, the R1T, F150 Lightning, even a Canoo. My current truck had over 240,000 miles and wasn't going to last much longer. Needed a new truck, but didn't really want to buy an ICE vehicle in 2023.

Got the Rivian today so suppose I can cancel a few of those deposits. Except for the Canoo. I'm still rooting for them. ?
