But you've given people 6 months who've lasted a year or two and given people a year or two who have gone 6 months I'm sure. Medicine isn't perfect, neither is manufacturing.
thats not how it works. we show trial data, and explain how a group of people did with one intervention vs another. individual outcomes can and do vary.
i was not discussing treatment efficacy, that is more of an unknown, I am discussing timing. very different.
the timing of therapy we were able to tell them honestly. we are discussing timing

The issue with providing a transparent look into the parameters is that those parameters could be changing fairly often. For example, when I spoke to my guide awhile ago regarding concerns over service (the closest SC is four hours away in Atlanta and the closest remote technician is over three hours away in Charleston), she said that we needed to get more Rivians's in the Charlotte area. It makes sense that they would place remote techs in areas where they have a higher density of vehicles.

Now, let's say they had 15 R1's within a 50 mile radius of Charlotte. As luck would have it, ten more are on the production line to be delivered in a couple of weeks, making a total of 25 in the 50 mile radius. If the number of R1's needed to justify putting a remote service tech in Charlotte were 30, it would make sense to bump reservation holders within the radius in order to hit that critical mass and add a remote service tech in Charlotte. (It provides significant savings to Rivian to have a tech drive 30-60 minutes for a service call instead of 3+ hours. It also increases customer satisfaction leading to more sales.) Once the critical mass is hit, there is no need to prioritize Charlotte area deliveries, and so that parameter is removed. Obviously, pure hypothetical example, but I do imagine that the inputs to the prioritization process are fairly dynamic making it seem far more random than it probably is.
this is an excellent point OG

That is absolutely not true. If you ordered you signed the same agreement I did:

like I said, they did not violate the contract
but when they give you a delivery window, it is a promise
just as some folks are upset about what they see as changes to content which have been discussed here. (another promise) they are not obligated by the contract, but they certainly suggested the inclusion of features that were later removed (ex powered bed cover, meridian sound system, etc)
nobody is suggesting lawsuits, just better communication

Doctor give it to me straight, are you going to call up one of those German vehicle companies and cancel your Rivian already?? Didn't think so.

The only promises they have made are in that contract. End of story.

The delivery window is actually called a delivery ESTIMATE. Notice how many times that word appears on your order page? Yet here you are still pissing into the wind about them “promising” you something. You know it never happened but you won’t stop….

not the point
Yes, actually it is. If you take delivery after all this whining you are a hypocrite. Will you be back here with another thread for each panel gap you find, accusing Rivian of pissing in your Cheerios?

I know people who have waited longer for delivery on vehicles produced by larger companies, in larger quantities and with decades of car building experience. This is nothing special to be complaining about.

if you look at the thread, it is titled I don't feel valued as a customer
we can agree to disagree

not sure what you mean by "pissing in the wind", but I have been only polite in my interactions with you. i try to objectively listen to all others have posted.

btw: here is the definition of promise by the Merriam-Webster dictionary
again, different from contract (i never said they violated the contract, but, they did not deliver on their promise

pay special attention to 1a and 2

“Pissing in the wind” means you are wasting your time complaining about something you were never promised. It’s not an insult. It’s an invitation to come back down and join us on planet earth.

Your order page looks the same as mine. It does not include the word promise anywhere. It says estimate multiple times, which is not even close to a promise. Shall I post the definition of estimate?

They gave an estimate not a promise like so many have already have said. No where did Rivian say they promise to give you a truck by a certain date. It’s a delivery estimate, just like a shipping estimate. Not all estimates are met.

There is an easy solution for that...... www.autotrader.com. you can get one today for $92,900...... Money is replaceable, time is not..... If that is not a solution for you, let me remind you that here we enjoy very much seeing adult people crying for not getting their toys ....
