R1S Shop access live with lots of inventory!

I'm pretty fed up. I live in Huntington Beach, 20 min away from Rivian in Costa Mesa. Pre-ordered R1S in 10/2019. Adventure, limestone, ocean coast, 21" wheels. I'm firmly set on the OC interior, but I am flexible on exterior color and open to 22" wheels as well.

My guide is telling me that nothing is available in the R1 shop. He tells me he can get me R1 shop access if I really want, but I won't be able to see launch edition models and adventure models are just starting to get built so they are rarely available in the R1 shop. Meanwhile, I'm seeing guys in here and on the R1S subforum with R1S adventure models getting cars. I am seeing screen shots of R1Ss available. People who live in my geographic area with pre-orders dates far later than mine are getting their trucks.

What's the disconnect here? What am I not seeing? I want the R1S. I'm not looking to flip it. I have cash and motivation to buy. It shouldn't be this hard.

At least you have a guide.... many of us still don't.

I told my guide that I'm seeing on forums and social media groups that people with adventure model orders can see launch editions cars in the R1 shop and are ordering them. This is the reply.

Just get the access and see what you can see. My bet is you'll see everything.

@RayzorBEV - I thought that Forest Edge was always paired with warm ash wood.

That's what my Guide told me that certain Forest Edge interiors were built with dark ash wood instead of warm. I have dark ash now on my R1T and I like it. The dark ash gives it a more modern look where as the warm ash brings a retro 90's vibe to the interior. To each his own.

(1) Oct/Nov R1S build with 12V and Meridian with the early fit/finish and older battery

or

(2) March build with no 12V, no Meridian, but better fit/finish and fresh battery

There have been such a mix of 13XX-24XX builds in the shop from MY22 as well as newer builds in the 7XXX range. Pros/cons for selecting each. Thoughts?

#2 all the way. Trust me. The Meridian sound system is over rated (my premium sound system in my Model Y sounds better) plus the build issues are really, really painful to resolve. Speaking from my experiences with an early built R1T.

I think he is wrong about the LE visibility in R1 shop based on what we have seen.

Tell him you want R1Shop access and see what is in there for you. You do not need to select from there.

I would not be so concerned about fit and finish on earlier build. Mine is 1663, 10/2022, I have no issues with fit and finish.

I do have the wood trim on back of seats but no 12 volt in frunk.

Purchased in shop at 1AM-ish last night El Cap with OC and 22”. Guide said it’s in Normal and should ship in 4-6 weeks. VIN 72xx.

I will miss the shop “Easter egg hunt” obsession. Probably a good thing it’s over before permanent marital damage ensued.
