Does anyone know why I’m only charging at 86kw when the charger capacity is 175kw? This has happened before at an EA charger as well. I put the charger destination in the maps, but it was only about 10-15 minutes away. I figured it would ramp up to full speed.

Thanks!

You are getting close to 70% where it usually starts slowing sown. Looks like it says it did hit a max of 175 for part of the charge. There is a charging curve, you will only see the higher numbers at lower states of charge.

It never was above 86kw. The 175kw is saying the max charge rate available for that charger.

I think it's because some EVgo chargers are not setup to deliver their rated charge rates.

I just did a road trip and stopped at two different EVgo sites and saw very different charge rates.

Site 1 was at a Wawa and had 2 chargers with each rated at 200kW. Even though no one else was using the other charger, my peak charge rate was 81kW and average rate for the session was 81kW as well.

Site 2 was in a retail plaza and had 2 150kW chargers and 1 350kW charger. This one was great, I used the 350kW charger and peak charging rate was 208kW, average rate for the session was 163kW.
