I think it is a shame that they offer LE shop access and pricing to non-LE holders. If all LE holders had already received their vehicles, I wouldn’t have a problem, but I’m still waiting and lots of folks able to jump the line.
The pricing is based on pre-March or post-March, even if new reservations get the LE from the shop it is at the higher prices.

Well, I’m and LE holder and if I choose an Adventure config in the Shop with say 20”AT, they show a $2,500 up charge.

They do get the free wheel upgrade to the bright 22s or 20s. That is different than the 15k post-March pricing.

For those who have had shop access for a while now, is there any way to tell the vehicle's location and / or VIN #? (or model year) before selecting a vehicle?
As posted above, there is no way to know in advance. To take that a step further, I inspected the page source when I had access (Rivian is notorious for coding things in before they are visible, like the updated delivery estimate windows) and even digging through all the code I couldn't find anything that indicated model year or VIN so I don't think it's even coded into Rivian's page.

The only other thing I could think of is if you have a guide you could reach out and ask them to check for you if you can direct them to the exact shop vehicle you are looking at, but even that would probably be more hassle than it's worth and may not be worthwhile because there's a decent chance any given truck would be claimed by the time you sent that over, had them look it up, and got the response.

Interestingly as someone pointed out above, any truck with 20" wheels has all of the offroading package with it.. Even The single LE in the shop.

I believe with the update to the configurator the only Adventure packages they are building currently with 20" have the "All Terrain Package" (no option to separately configure without that at the moment).

I think for the immediate future the best odds of finding a 20" build without the underbody shield and compact spare will be lucking upon (ADV or LE) that was built specifically for a reservation that wasn't ultimately converted to a sale (which is probably more likely to happen on an LE since those should generally be custom spec'ed to existing reservations, whereas they don't appear to be building ADVs without the AT Package event for early reservation holders).

FWIW, I feel like $450 for the compact spare is reasonable enough & there's probably some value there just knowing you have it in the vehicle if you ever need it, but I just couldn't justify $2k (or even $1700 if that discount is still showing on the ADVs with the AT package in the shop) for the underbody shield as someone who will only be doing very light / minimal off-roading.

We love that the R1 has such good off-road capabilities, but those features are just a bonus as we mostly just needed an EV that could tow our boat which limited us to the R1 (no brainer), Lightning (not happening after how awful Ford has handled that rollout and pricing), and Hummer EV (overpriced and still too scarce, but admittedly a very sexy truck).

I'm thinking we're seeing the last of the LEs here now... from here on out, guessing these will all be Adventure Editions without the free wheel and paint upgrade and no wrist band.

It is interesting that I’ve never seen a shop vehicle posted with the factory Front Paint Protection option. Do folks who selected that option not bail out at the last minute?

Purchased R1S from shop 8 days ago. Just got text today from guide it's on its way (from Normal to SoCal) way ahead of initial 4-6 week estimate.

Are you relying on our binding contract to get the $7500 tax credit and say you vehicle went into service 8/15/2022 and amend your tax return?
I haven't considered that in to my decision. I figured, when it's time to file will figure out the best course of action.

Can't speak for that poster, but I went ahead and just filed an extension on my taxes yesterday since I know my R1S is in transit now.

Figured that way I can claim on 2022 without needing to amend and also see what comes out with the April 17/18 updates on credit amounts and then decide the best / safest path forward.

**Nothing in this post is tax or legal advice, and everyone should consult with their own tax advisors and make the decisions that are best for them, I just personally decided the extension route was logical in my case where I have a VIN assigned and (absent something crazy) should have delivery no longer than 6-8 weeks out.**
Did you get one below the $80,000 limit for 2023?

I've been following this thread even though I have an R1T ordered and not an R1S.
I'd say, still expect the 4-6 weeks.
My guide informed me on 3/27 that my vehicle was being prepped to be put on the train for SoCal.
I checked in earlier this week with my guide and was told that it is still in transit and delivery is "expected" the last week of April. I received my VIN and 8 steps on 3/21.
So a little over 4 weeks if all holds true.

Same here... mine is probably on the same train. Mine showed a location of Yermo CA earlier today. I guess the vehicles GPS shows exactly where it was at the time he checked.
