To those in LA or SOCAL, how long from the time you got your VIN/steps did it take for you to get notification your vehicle had arrived or was ready for delivery?
I saw another thread where someone recently, like 2 days ago, went from VIN to delivery, including inspection at the SC, in 19 days. Seems pretty quick to me. Trying to get a sense of the timing.

I did a first mile test drive the other day.
The next day I got a text from the person that did our test drive saying that he sees my truck is en route and I should work on completing my 8 steps.
Not sure if that means maybe it’s close and maybe he was trying to tell me something. Or it could totally mean I reading waaaaay into it and it was a standard follow up I’m only seeing what I want to see in the text!

Expect 1 month, but you might be surprised and get it sooner so make sure you have your loan/money squared away and ready to send when you need it. Remember you don't have to pay them until the day before delivery, so hold off on that until you have your delivery scheduled.

Mine was only 1 week from the El Segundo SC. Got the 8 steps and VIN, a week later I was able to choose from delivery dates.

VIN Match/8 steps on 2.23.23 (truck still in Normal, shipped to El Segundo by rail)
Delivery on 3.22.23

If you get delivery within two weeks, it's most likely due to someone not taking the delivery for whatever reason. I guess financing falling through must be #1 reason for orphans--I was told their internal e-delivery system will not open until they upload confirmation of physical check/wire transfer.

I don't think that is completely true... I picked one up from the R1S shop on the 3rd or 4th of April.. At that time, it still showed in Normal... By the 7th through 12th, showed 130 miles away from Normal in Elgin Illinios, near the Chicago River. By the 14th, it showed in Yermo CA and probably near it's final destination of Fontana CA. That is the closest train hub, where it would be transported from to Costa Mesa SC. Guide has told me all along that I only need to bring the checks (I'm doing a 50/50 percent loan/cash) when I take delivery. Told me to make sure to upload pictures of the checks 1 or 2 days before delivery in order them to be cleared by Rivian. Also, my R1S was produced the last week of March with final sign off being March 31st. All this movement of the vehicle, without even verification of funds.

Yup, that's my point. They will deliver a vehicle to your SC without you even uploading anything. They simply won't open scheduling if you don't upload proof of payment. That's probably how a lot of orphans end up at service centers.

I picked up a R1T from the shop on March 16, and on march 21 they said it was at the costa mesa center for pickup. I think 6-8 weeks can be generous for most people.

How are y’all figuring out where your car is in relation to transit? I ordered mine a week ago and I keep having to ask my guide, as of yesterday it was still in Normal.

My guess is that this vehicle was already at the service center. No way it got on a train and made it all the way to SoCal and ready for delivery in 5 days.
Mine has supposedly been on a train since 3/27 and the last update I got was that it's "expected" to be here the last week of April, so another week yet.

I think it totally depends on the guide. I got a very generic answer from my guide saying 4-8 weeks. I emailed him last week for and update....he was on vacation. I got a response from some other random guide that was covering saying it was still in transit. Which if holds true, will be right around 4 weeks from getting on the train. 5 weeks from getting my VIN and 8 steps.

I just received an update this morning from my guide. My truck has arrived at the SC and is going through final inspection. He said they will be reaching out soon to start planning on delivery scheduling.
It looks like my truck was put on the train around 4/6 or 4/7 and most likely arrived in CA around 4/11 and to the service center yesterday or the day before.
