Sounds like launch mode might be returned to previous capabilities? But said in some cryptic speak...

Or it was never changed and they are just trying to fix the psychological response.

Certainly seems like it and they kind of tried to hide it.
You gotta feel for Rivian, they'll literally put "oops we broke launches, here we fixed it" in their official release notes for the very next version, and the damn detective brigade is still off to the races sniffing out a vast conspiracy to hide launch performance issues...

I'd rather the update regressed the trip meter changes from the last update than this launch mode acceleration response IMHO.

I'm just glad it was a software error and not an intentional attempt to reduce performance to cover an engineering/design issue.

Last note seems to address the lag in launch? Would any doctors confirm?
I just tried to do a launch the other day and felt a noticeable lag getting going compared to the only other time I tried it a few months back. I'm glad to see it wasn't just in my head that it felt like it took a second to actually get going.

I hope the trip meter fix, is more involved and includes better access to life of the vehicle information as well as ease of use of the trip meter. Seems like trip meter could be added to the driver display in the map/tire/15 min area.

i'd also like to have some flexibility for the current efficiency meter, to extend the interval (i.e. 30min / 60 min).

One would hope. However, was there anything in the last release that even remotely had anything to do with the vehicle's acceleration? If not, why would they be in that section of the code?

Either way, I added the latest verbiage to my signature ...

I wouldn't be surprised if the Driver+ code was tangled in with manual driving for purposes of maximum values. Someone improving Driver+ might not be working off the latest code base because testing takes way longer than four weeks. Thus when the improvements got committed, the merge didn't happen correctly and ended up with a regression bug.

Does anyone else really appreciate the level of granularity of what is being changed in the software updates?

I think it is much more helpful to have a line-item list instead of "various bug fixes" because some of the issues which have been addressed in the past I have experienced at random times and it is nice to know that a) they were aware of the problem and b) we can be on the lookout for any further issues related to it.

I hate to disturb the conspiracy theorizing, but I’m still on 2023.10.2 and I also feel the launch mode change (the difference is obvious), and it had worked normally multiple times while I was already on 2023.10.2. So either this is some sort of remote programmable parameter separate of main OTA releases or one that can get changed through a series of events. Either way, if this is the regression they are referring to, it wasn’t caused by 2023.14.0.

Disappointed they aren't walking back their trip meter change. That change has been even more annoying than I thought it would be.

People need to be more clear with the launch bug - in my experience it's only a lag to get going (like what you're saying) meaning that I let off the brake, it takes 0.5 seconds, and then starts moving. In my case, it starts moving at full power. People are making it seem like their 0-60 is being delayed by 0.5 seconds, which isn't the case.

To be clear, previously when I let off the brake, it takes 0.001 seconds, and then starts moving. It still feels like the same 0-60.
