Only tripled? Ours went up 10x!! Good thing Gavin Newsom had our back… got a whole $50 back (from our own taxpayers money)I don’t need to go to CA to find that. This past winter our gas company tripled everyone’s bills because they didn’t plan for the rise in wholesale prices. Meanwhile they are sitting on a mountain of cash.![]()
Those energy companies are dinosaurs just like the cable companies. They are desperately trying to stay in control as the rest of the world moves forward knowing we won’t need them in the same form in the future.Only tripled? Ours went up 10x!! Total time at collision shop was 43 days with the caveat that I asked them to order a new part that they didn't initially replace but IMHO needs to me replaced.I'm on week five in the collision center for a $15,000 repair (after waiting 8 weeks to get on their schedule). I hope the situation in Denver is better than out here in the boonies.
So you have it back?Total time at collision shop was 43 days with the caveat that I asked them to order a new part that they didn't initially replace but IMHO needs to me replaced.
yes. been driving too much for fun to post about it. I should start my own thread with details of the insurance, repair, misc.So you have it back?
Glad that’s over! I think all of these places are slow these days. The last couple times I needed collision repairs it took over a month even for vehicles with parts that are readily available.yes. been driving too much for fun to post about it. I should start my own thread with details of the insurance, repair, misc.
Minor update:
Almost two weeks in and no repair estimate or declaration of a total loss. Nationwide, for it’s part is communicating well at this point. The collision shop is simply full of cars and doesn’t have room to start the tear down of my truck. I believe this to be true. I was at the collision center last weekend and it was absolutely packed. There were 7 Rivians on the lot. The technician was kind to help me get the iKamper RTT of the back of my truck and onto a rental. He also showed me an R1T he had finished tearing down to let me see where he thinks the main damage will be. He wouldn’t outright say it but I inferred that he thinks it’ll be totaled.
Anyways, the tech told me he should be able to get the teardown, inspection, and estimate done next week.
Meanwhile, I’ve decided that Enterprise car rental is the absolute most ghetto of major car rental companies. First they gave me a Jeep Gladiator with roll up windows, no power locks, VERY worn down mud terrain tires, and a very rusty Fab Four front bumper. I took that back after I finished getting my RTT and they swapped it for the most mis-named car on the road, a Nissan Rouge. Seriously, WTF is “rough-ish” about this car? It does 0-60 in…. eventually. It’s a stunning maroon color,,, well stunning if you like looking like the leftovers of a gutted elk.
BUT, the Rouge did have one thing that reminded me of my Rivian.. No Carplay. ?
Happy to see you got yours back. If my truck is repaired, it will be a VERY expensive repair. The entire driver's side has to be replaced along with the tailgate, bed floor, rear bumper area, etc., etc. But that doesn't count the unseen damage, which likely includes the frame. Definitely the reason I'm hoping it gets totaled.Total time at collision shop was 43 days with the caveat that I asked them to order a new part that they didn't initially replace but IMHO needs to me replaced.
Yes. Even the Rivian has its ghetto side... ?Sooooo, Captain Obvious would like to point out that by extended logic, no Carplay is absolutely ghetto.
Very sorry to hear. Most states don't have a high enough limit for property damage insurance to cover your truck. Don't know the law in Colorado, but glad you are OK.Very sorry to hear this happened to one of my favorite posters, supper glad you are OK. Good luck in getting this resolved ASAP favorably.
Dang Beavis! This made me sad and angry at the other guy. So glad you are unhurt and family is safe. You’ll be made whole soon I’m sure. Let us know what Denver collision center they recommend. Such a helpless feeling.
I’d like to buy you some Swedish meatballs and cam locks anytime!
P.S. DriveCam catch it/useful?
We used to call the Nissan Juke the Nissan Joke.. it was that bad too!Now three weeks removed from the accident and my truck still hasn't been inspected by the collision center.
Meanwhile, I'm still renting a Nissan Rouge. Let me restate that this car is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE.
You know why I don’t think you’ll go for a Tacoma, or Corvette, or Porsche, or Land Rover? Because you’ll keep checking in on this forum, as you won’t find anyone like @COdogman @DTown3011 @Count Orlok @SASSquatch @NWCamper @909phillyman @cohall @Riviot @MountainBikeDude @NY_Rob and the hundreds of other Ruffians/questionable but solid individuals I left off this list on the other respective forums. You’ll be bored over there. So stick it out. Give it 90 days. And I bet you’ll be happier in the end. Just my 2 cents.Very Minor update.
Now three weeks removed from the accident and my truck still hasn't been inspected by the collision center. The insurance company only said it would get done s00n. I guess we all know how that goes. No doubt they collision center is very busy. Just with they could communicate directly and let me know how things are going. I'm also concerned my truck got caught in the hail storm that passed through Denver a couple days ago..
Meanwhile, I'm still renting a Nissan Rouge. Let me restate that this car is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. I saw a Yugo a few days ago and the driver held his nose up in disgust at this thing. Birds are trying to break into my garage so they can take a dump on it. Satan himself called the express his sympathy that I've been dammed to drive this thing. I called Nissan engineering a couple of days ago to tell them "Bless Your Heart" when discussing the design decisions for this car.
My wife has suggested that if I don't get another Rivian, I should consider stepping away from EVs for a few years and either wait for the new Tacoma or get a toy to drive. Something like a Porsche 918 Caymen or a Corvette C8. Of course it's easier to win the lotto than finding a C8 for sale at MSRP. I may consider a used C7. If I go more of a family vehicle route, I'd either get a used Porsche Panamera 4 or Cayenne. I'd consider a Land Rover Defender but I don't have a fetish for being stuck on the side of the road. ?
