I would assume so, this is what mine had done. I was a 1/21 order, but there were a lot in the shop when I was looking Wednesday and Thursday. Odd that they are not automatically matching to an open order. My exact config was there Thursday Morning.
Thanks. Soon after I posted, I received an invite to the R1 shop. At first they had only 2 R1S's that didn't match my config. Went back an hour later and they had multiple R1S's and one that matched my EXACT config. Agree, that it's weird that Rivian didn't simply match me to that VIN.

Now, I'm trying to complete my 8 steps and they want insurance card WITH the new VIN on it!!! Pretty odd as I have never had insurance for a vehicle BEFORE I received it and I don't even think that it is possible! I've always just provided my current insurance info. I tried using the Rivian insurance option (which was pretty high) but I figured I'd use that then switch to my insurance, and in that step they wanted my financing details! It's too early to have that info as well!! I was assigned a Guide, hopefully they can clarify.

Yes this was weird… but you can use your insurer of choice and then send docs to guide and they will add

I literally just had this exchange with my guide. They require the VIN on the insurance card. They kept rejecting mine. They advised that some companies will give you a card with the new effective date, but not Progressive. The quote from Rivian Insurance was outrageous for me.

The other issue I am facing is for some reason my Financing will not close out. Been approved, I followed the flow and submitted it yesterday. Now, my guide is saying it is showing open on their end. She wanted to let it go overnight, then said she would escalate to the financing team if it was not updated in the morning.

Hopefully you can get your situation cleared up. My guide replied and did confirm that in CA my current insurance card would be accepted (waiting on confirmation in the 8 steps though). My insurance did tell me that they could give me new insurance and make it effective once I have a delivery date, I use Connect by AmFAM (Costco insurance) and yes, the Rivian insurance quote was CRAZY high ($180/mo) vs the quote I received from Connect ($379/6mo)!!! You would think that Rivian would have this process smoothed out by now, but growing pains I suppose.
