Full Size spare tire and wheel now available in Rivian Gear Shop!

I already have adequate kit so $1235 for a 20” AT seems too high. Anyone interested in splitting a set of four in Vegas, So-Cal, or Phoenix areas?

I texted my guide asking if I'd still get pre-march pricing since they removed the tire from my configuration (which ultimately led to me buying one from the gear shop). I'll update with their response.

I was told that for the compact spare, seeing as it was on my original pre=price increase reservation before they pulled it off, that it would be available for original pricing when it became available. I would assume that it would be the case for full size spare IF anyone had it on their original reservation

In another thread people mentioned that a 2012 Ram wheel will work (double check that the year is correct). I believe they had to add a spacer ring to make the clearance acceptable.

As I recall someone got a wheel for $100 and a tire from a used shop for $75 thereabouts. Since it's a spare that might be a worthwhile move for anyone shy of spending $1000+ for the combo.

Since R1S is the factory priority, I’m guessing new builds are prioritized for spares vs R1T, where there are spares to spare.

Same, I’m still gonna be on the lookout for a worn-out 21 or something on the cheap. I’ve seen them in some areas for as low as about $400. Considering I already have a more robust bottle jack and don’t really need the Rivian jack/wrench, that’s probably the way to go for a tire I’ll hopefully never need.

I was all in for pre-march pricing. I don't think $1,095 for the 21" spare is in my future. Hopefully your guide has some good news

Called the number in the gear shop and was told it'll be available in 3-4 weeks to collect from my SC in San Jose. Given the expected demand, I'm thinking more like 6-8 weeks.

Expensive, but about what I was expecting. I built my own matching 20" dark spare kit for about $1200 total a few months ago. $1K for the used (4000 mile) wheel and another $200 for the jack + tools. With tax and shipping I probably would have been looking at ~1,750 for the kit from Rivian, so I'm happy with my decision to not wait.

We had the spare tire and wheel specked in our original order. The spare and the all weather floor mats were dropped by Rivian. I have already bought the floor mats. Should I get the tire kit at the price on the original order or will I be charged the new Gear Store price? Also, will they ship the spare tire kit to the nearest Discount Tire? This will save me a 600 mile round trip drive.

That seems like a lot. I snagged a 21" wheel and tire with the Rivian jack kit off of FB marketplace for $700, unused a couple of months back.
