Have members missed their delivery dates? We are scheduled for August/September and still haven't hear a word.

Yes, it happens. I had a guide for 6 months but they didn't really have much insight into the reason my truck was not getting shipped. Turned out it was built then sat at the factory for 3 months waiting for PPF. Rivian decided to remove it from my order and I took delivery 3 weeks later. My window was April-May 2023 and I picked it up the last week of June.

I suggest nicely pushing CS to get you access to the shop if you are getting impatient.

Yes. And, in my case, there's no mystery why. I missed my June-July window for an R1S quad. Missed it because my config has Black Mountain vegan leather trim option. Two days ago, my guide kindly informed me that the factory is not currently manufacturing that option. And she doesn't know when they'll start.

Unfortunately, I put too much faith in a statement by Tony Caravano in his January 5th mass email: "Of course, those preferring their specific build will be able to wait for their delivery window to arrive."

I think that Rivian has a "guide" information issue. Our guide had no clue about how financing worked. She told us 2 different things and only after talking to the supervisor/manager was it made clear as to what we needed to do.

I have read many stories about "guides" not really guiding.....more of putting up road blocks.

My window was June, July and completely passed with no message communication or information from anyone. My window now says “processing estimate“ which CS says I’ll get a new date at the end of August. WTF?
I have PPF on my order. Somehow I suspect it’s related to the delay. But attempt to communicate with my guide, and get clarification of whether I should drop PPF of resulted in zero responses to my question.

I think there is some of that with certain guides, but I also think they simply don't have access to a bunch of info that would help them to help us.

My second guide was super helpful as I worked through the purchase process. And I feel like she did her best on everything else but honestly didn't have answers to certain things.

I miss mine. Hard to forget that feeling of seeing your new vehicle for the first time ?

(Both of mine ended up slightly early, but I'm under the assumption my R1T was a delivery reject and the R1S was selected from the shop)

"Our goal is to give you accurate, up-to-date details about your specific preorder so you can better plan and stay more informed." That statement was in "An Update from RJ" mass email on 12/28/21.

When Rivian can't meet the delivery window, what's the protocol for communicating accurate, up-to-date details? Do guides proactively contact preorder holders to tell them that PPF or vegan leather trim is holding up orders? (Is that even their job?) Or does Tony proactively send us an email? Or am I supposed to contact CS or my guide every week or so and ask, "Can I still believe the window in my account?"

For customers whose actual deliveries happen during or before the published windows, Rivian looks like a hero. In recent months, that appears to cover the vast majority of deliveries. But for those of us in the minority who watched the window come and go with zero communication from anyone at Rivian ... well, we're not happy campers. We would appreciate some honest, informed, proactive communication from Rivian to help us plan.

I'm an early '20 order waiting on an R1S. My window has been bumped a couple times but I did receive an email in April that my June/July window has been moved up. Since then, crickets.

Reached out for an update and got a canned response. Still no access to the shop either.

Anyone else in the same boat? I've seen several deliveries for people with '21 order dates.

Another Arkansas resident, @JBMurgo, made a similar post just a couple weeks ago (link below). Your proximity to a Rivian Service Center may be what's delaying your delivery and keeping you from gaining access to the R1 Shop. There have been reports of successful work-arounds where members changed their delivery address to that of a friend or relative (in the same state) but closer to a Service Center. Rivian has a SC in Memphis, TN.

Appreciate the info! I have relatives in Memphis and Dallas so both are an option. I did notice there were 2 deliveries made to Arkansas earlier. Not sure they were any closer to a SC than I am.

Hi. I’m in Arkansas as well. Jan 2020 order date. I’ve experienced the same delays and communication gaps. I did speak to someone in support who said changing your delivery location to Memphis may help. I changed my Address to Memphis service center about 3 weeks ago. I’ve not heard anything but I’m hoping this next release of delivery estimates will trigger the process. My delivery estimate is now listed as “processing”.

I'm in processing status as well. Just irks me I get an email in April that my timeline was moved up and now my estimated timeline has passed and nothing.

Let me know if changing your address worked. I may very likely try the same if I don't hear anything soon.
