It's worse than that. There are people who believe that there is something called an HHO generator that can be added to a ICE engine which will cause it to run on water.
Was discussing my i3 with a guy at work, then he asked "well why don't they just put generators on all four wheels so the car will recharge itself while driving?" then "that way you would never need to plug it in!"... and he was serious o_O

This country is in trouble!

A friend in my office has been solidly anti ev. They have no soul he says. He owns motorcycles like an old Norton, a Ducati and another sport bike. Also owns a modern GTO with an LS or Lt motor.

Though everyone expected me to be the first ev owner in the office with that veeeeerrrryyyy long Rivian reservation, another mate just bought a lightly used model y dual motor with performance boost. That's 0-60 in 4. He took the other guy for a ride and when the Motorhead walked back in, he had an astonished look on his face. His only words were, wow that's quick. I think he's changed his mind a bit, lol.

Over the last two days, I drove from middle of nowhere, Georgia to Pittsburgh. Ran into some very cool people, including a lady who had only had her R1S for two days, and was driving from North Carolina to Penn State.
But when I get within 15 miles of my house, I stopped at a Sheetz station which had a EV go charger. I just plugged in and was grabbing my dogs to walk them when a dude pulled up in his pick up Chevy truck. Reminder, i am a car whore…. I came from a Ram Powerwagon and still have two cars and two motorcycles and a 70’s Dodge Powerwagon I’m building.

He looked at me and said ill never on own of those things. I’ll wait for the hydrogen to get here. Those things catch on fire all the time and they’re nearly impossible to put out. I’ll wait for hydrogen..

I looked at him and I said I totally agree. We should get rid of all EVs and wait for the hydrogen because we know we never had any vehicles burning up along the highway when it was just gasoline I mean I’ve been driving for 40 years and I never remember seeing a car on fire along the road, or in the garage ever before with him nodding his head in agrerment.
I finished by saying … for proof of how safe hydrogen is all we Gotta do is look at the Hindenburg. It was perfect example of why hydrogen is so safe..

He said right on man give me a fist pump and drove away in happy ignorance
Oh! The humanity!

Well done. As an aside, very few people know the Hindenburg history.

I have my R1S, I agree EVs lack a soul. I kept my Alfa Guilia Quad because of its soul…. The twin turbos winding up …. Nothing sounds like that

It's even easier than that. Just put the rear wheels into regen while the front wheels drive the car. Then you will be charging continually while you drive down the road. If regen can give you back only 50% of what you've used, then this will increase the range to almost 500 miles. Rivian could easily implement this with software in an OTA update, but they refuse.

Sadly, I feel the need to explicitly say that I'm not being serious here ... clearly this only works in ludicrous mode.

You should definitely do a youtube video about that.. without any scientific data at all to support your claims. I swear, you would have 1,000,000+ followers overnight.. you know, the same people who believe in the 200mpg Miracle Carburetor conspiracy, free energy, etc.. ;)

If Rivian hadn’t removed the front center console 12V, we could be using this … imagine the gas savings! ?

Just post a video of it Regenerating power while going down a long hill. Most people will marvel at the magic of recharging it simply by not pressing the throttle

Clara Ford, Henry's wife always drove a Detroit Electric, an early BEV, from the teens into the late twenties. She never liked the way Henry's cars smelled.
