I've had probably 50-60 new cars in my lifetime. Several of them had issues early on. Happens to all vehicles. Sucks when it does, yes. But, that's what warranties are for. Sorry it happened. Unfortunate, but sounds like they did a really good job at taking care of you. I'm one that looks for the positives and tries to focus on those. Look forward to the fact that you'll have several yeas of enjoyment out of your awesome vehicle going forward. You own something innovative and unique. Will be a lot to enjoy. I'm always looking at what's coming out. At this moment, there's nothing existing, or on the horizon that could get me out of my Rivian.Disappointed that this is happening after only 2 week and on labor day. But shit happens and they are taking care of it.

Not everyone has that service experience. My 12v system died after 6ish months and 10k miles, I have no idea why it died, I charged to 70% the night before it died. It took Rivian close to 3 weeks to service my completely dead truck, which they did in my driveway. No rental, no uber credits, but to be fair I didn't ask for any either, since I have a 2nd vehicle. About 30 years of driving, never had a vehicle unavailable for use longer than 2 weeks, before Rivian. So you had a problem covered under warranty, the company is coming to your house to fix it two days later and paying to make sure you can get places in the mean time? Sounds like a pretty good experience to me considering just about no other manufacturer would ever consider doing this.
I used to get bored with cars very quickly. A new one almost every three months in my early days. I've backed that off to 2-3 year cycles now!50-60 cars!!
Are you immortal?
My T’s 12V died about 6 months ago after an OTA. They sent a tow truck immediately from Sac to Carson City (130 mi) and paid for an Uber for me to pick it up the next day. i guess technically it is not bricked. I can drive up to 13 miles an hour with a loud non-stop alarm.I'm interested that you used the term "bricked". I always thought it meant a dead main high-voltage battery and the car is a great big "brick". Has it evolved into something else?
Hey Boss- stupid question here and I could probably spend a day trying to research this but where is the frunk manual release cord you refer to? Thanks.2 weeks in I get the error hood latch not working. Can’t be fixed remotely. I can pull the cord for the manual release but the error won’t go away. mobile crew are supposed to be here Tuesday…and Rivian gave me Uber credits since there are no rentals.![]()
