This is what all posts should be ... helpful and not judgey.
Who is being judgey? I see plenty of people disagreeing with the OP but not one value judgement cast on the OP for his opinion. Simply vocalizing disagreement isn't unnecessarily judgemental its stating a counter opinion.

You're right. I wasn't thinking about a particular person. I just got this vibe like "If you didn't like the look, you were stupid to buy in the first place." Stuff like that isn't helpful, so maybe leave it unsaid. But this post was more like, "Well, now that you're in this situation, here's something that may help you." That's a high-quality post, IMO.

No offense intended.

Yea that's a totally fair assessment and I am probably a little guilty in that regard myself. It makes sense that you could buy something that you weren't sure about and instead of grow more comfortable with it you wind up disliking it.

Comments implying the OP shouldn't have bought it in the first place only deepen that rift. Fair point and a good post. Thanks for explaining it.

This is a funny thing to post AFTER you bought it, but I do get the sentiment about the front end. It’s cutesy, not even remotely aggressive, and isn’t helping to win over any traditional “truck guys” - which, is important to move EV adoption honestly. And this is all after one of the designers told RJ straight up that the front end is ugly and needs to be changed. He didn’t budge and said it will grow on people.

I LOVE the look...walk into the garage, Rosebud wakes up as I say hello Rosebud. the flash of light as though to respond. Driving down the road, playing guess the car by it's driving lights...Rivian stands out. It is friendly. LOVE my R1S.

When I am driving at night on low beams, I regularly get oncoming traffic flicking their lights to tell me to turn off my high beams
Has anyone dug into adjusting the angle of their low beams?
I DIY’d lowering them on my 4Runner, would like to do the same on my R1S to avoid blinding as many oncoming drivers as I can, within a safe threshold for my own visibility of course.

I don't think that is possible. You might be able to shim them down a little, but that might be dangerous for you not seeing the road fully.

Like I said in my comment, people will flash me and as soon as I go to the high beam, they understand. I know there are cars that are coming at me with what seems like high beams. I do NOT flash because I am not a jerk.....LOL. I remember something my driver's training teacher taught me in 1980...."If a car is coming at you with their high beams on, look at the reflectors on the right side of the road and slow down until the car passes"

I flash at cars coming at me with high beams because I want to politely communicate that I think they have their high beams on. I've also on occasion forgotten to turn mine off, and been flashed. It would absolutely never occur to me to think that the person flashing me was a jerk. Instead, I always, "God, ya jerk. You left your high beams on." About myself.

I actually think it is worse for the drivers ahead of us going the same direction, It is just to bright in the rear view mirrors.
I have had multiple different tactics used to try get me to turn my lights down. They have used their signals/brakes/high beam after being passed, and the most illogical of all attempting in futility to prevent me from passing once hitting the passing lane(trying to create a gap?)
But I cannot get over the way the front end looks. Hate the lights
Is it just the lights or the whole bulbous front end. For me its not so much the lights as the whole front view being to wide and just unnecessary large, not a huge fan as it just doesn't sink with the rest of the R1S.
I would prefer the lights horizontally then they could lower the front a bit as well(won't happen).
I think the buggy look suits a van better, makes me think it is the bulbous R1 front end that I don't like.

LOVE the Riv. LOVE IT!. But I cannot get over the way the front end looks. Hate the lights. So much so that I park it so that when I walk up to the vehicle I approach it from the back.

Is this feeling going to pass?
I think this sentiment will be repeated thousands of times over with the CT but I am not sure it has a good "angle" to approach it from. ?

This is a behavior psychology problem. If you sell it you *will* get over the front end look as you drive around town and regret it immensely. If you keep it you will continue to obsess about the front end and be miserable. The only answer to your question is between your own ears :)

I agree with everyone else - how could even buy it if you hate the front end. It’s literally the most Rivian feature of the vehicle. Decide soon because you’re running up the mileage for a like new sale.

When I first placed my order on Nov 29th 2018, I also thought the front end looked ridiculous.
It has since grown on me and several people have actually commented that they like the lights. I now like them also.
