I was looking for a 2nd set of 22" wheels to mount snow tires on. Since the gear shop advertises a set that also includes tires and labor for $4,300, and the tires on their own cost around $2000, I expected that without the tires and without labor it should be somewhere around $2300 - $2,800.

Rivian quoted $4,100. Apparently they value the tires at only $50 per corner. For that price, I might as well order the gear shop package and put the tires into storage for the next 20K miles. I called the phone number on the estimate to try to confirm that they understood the request (the estimate contains no detail about what is included, just a price) and all they would say is that the see the same info I do (a price and nothing else).

Has anyone looked into purchasing wheels without tires from Rivian? Did they also quote you nearly the same price as the gear shop package.

Double check with the shop. It was $2800 ("out the door") for 4x 20 AT Brights with TPMS sensors. When they first call, they quoted me the price with tires and had to tell Rivian I do NOT need the tires. Took another 30 minutes and they responded back with the updated price. Make sure they know you do NOT need the tires. Tell them exactly what you need so they can update the quote.

Quotes from Rivian for wheels without tires seem all over the place. Another poster said he was quoted $2,300 for 20" darks.

Good to know that they at least occasionally sell them for a more reasonable price. And that there seems to be some degree of pricing based on the mood of service center's staff.

They are due to arrive at the service center in 2 days. I haven't approved the estimate, and am not going to at that price.

Perhaps they will consider making a more reasonable offer when they realize they may be stuck with a huge box of wheels in their office until they find another sucker who wants to pay the same price for wheels without tires as wheels with tires.

I was quoted 2300 without TPMS for the 20" darks so that lines up with the other poster.

I paid $2,222 after tax for 20 AT Brights without TPMS sensors (No Tires). From the Miami SC.

Are you all calling your local SC or the 855-RIVIAN5 number?

You can not call your local SC... you have to go through the Rivian national call center. They call the SC with your contact info then the SC calls you back. The Service Centers do not have a direct inward dial phone number for the public.

I am not sure which number I called. I just pressed the Call button in the app next to the estimate. I don't see any other numbers to call.

Yesterday evening I got a call back from someone at Rivian who said they had been told I called to complain about the price and that they agreed the price seemed higher than expected. But they couldn't give me a new price, or even confirm that there will be a new price. Just said that they would investigate and get back to me.

With so many of you saying you paid a lower price and no one saying you were quoted this much, I am now pretty confident that they will eventually make a better offer. THANKS

And if they don't - I'm just not buying. I like the idea of being able to do the swap myself when we get a snow earlier in the season than I expected or if we get one of those late-April or early-May blizzards after I already swapped back. But even at $2K, that is still quite a bit more expensive than just sticking with one set of wheels and having discount tire do a mount & balance 2x a year.

Well another update. They called me back with a new price. $3300 Still higher than I expected, but less than before.

I told them I would think about it. Not sure what I want to do. hmmmm....

Looks like you gotta keep on calling a couple times every day to get different customer service reps and see what their mood is at that time to get the best price.

$2300 is a great price for just the dark rims. I paid about $5500 for them with tires, sensors, and install.

Did you call the 855 number to get in contact with local SC?
I called the number listed to call on the website in the tire area yes. I'm not sure who that put me in contact with but they were able to help me.
