Besides my Rivian, I also have a Tesla Model Y and I have a Tesla account when charging at a Tesla charging station.
I also have two Tesla Wall chargers at my homes in PA and FL. I use the "J" adapter at my Florida house and charge my Rivian without any issues ever.
Has anybody ever used a J connector at a Tesla Charging station?
Seeing I do have an account, will it work? Or does the charger recognize that it's not a Tesla?
Let me know please.

No adapters for the superchargers exist yet besides what's "permanently" installed on the magic dock stations.

I've used a Tesla Supercharger with a built-in "magic dock" adapter that lets the Tesla plug to the Rivian CCS port.

As Dark-Fx points out, current adapters for Tesla-to-J1772 are only for level 1 or level 2 charging. J1772 plugs do not have the 2 extra pins for DC fast charging. I'm not sure what would happen if you tried to use the J1772 adapter with a supercharger, but nothing good.

Lots of drivers are anticipating the opening up of Tesla chargers but it is a sword that cuts both ways. Even though over the road charging will be manifoldly easier, I suspect that non-Tesla charging will be more expensive than traditional CCS chargers (EA, EVgo, etc)

I also heard that as of now, once tesla is open for rivians and other manufacturers it'll only work with the V3 superchargers, not the 1 or 2, so that definitely changes my feelings on the whole situation if it stays like that. I am personally hoping the money from this deal and the government money will have them expand their network in general as well as add more chargers at existing locations. I wouldn't us them often but it would make a certain drive I do a ton easier.

Why? There aren't many v1's left and Tesla has been adding so many v3's (and I assume v4's) and even upgrading v2's. V3's used to be rare (2 years ago or so?) But they're widely deployed now.

Check out https://supercharge.info/map and filter for 250kW or more for v3+v4. There are a lot of them now.

Agreed, the only Tesla SCs that work with CCS cars, currently, are the ones with the "magic dock". They're aren't many of them, and unlikely (IMHO) to be many more with manufacturers switching to the NACS plug (previously known as the Tesla plug) and the promise of adapters for current owners.

That said, they work great if you can find them! I personally used the one in Shirley NY over labor day weekend. Use https://supercharge.info/map and filter for "Tesla and Other EVs".

I used the Tesla supercharger with magic dock when I was in Dallas. I downloaded the Tesla app and It worked flawlessly. The cost per KWh was ridiculous but I had no choice and needed a quick charge.

There are a lot more V1 and V2 than you think. A lot of the older stations have not been upgraded. I know in SoCal any stations pre-2019 are still v1 or v2. I’m sure it is that way in other locations.

Hard to get a breakdown but if you pull up the Tesla Supercharger map and look at ones you are interested in, click on them for more detail, if it does not say up to 250 kW it is most likely a V1 or V2.

Why did I hear that it was only going to be open for v3 chargers? Idk. I live nowhere near that map you posted. At the moment I do a drive where there are no fast chargers for CCS in 2 crucial stretches so it forces me to take the longer by distance route to get where I want to go. But to answer your initial question only magic dock tesla chargers can be used by any ccs car at the moment and there are like 14 of them nationwide and the majority are in new York I assume because that's where all of teslas charger are built.

For those that have charged with the magic dock, any idea how much it cost? That would be instructive. I do believe Tesla will charge a lot more for other vehicles to charge vs Teslas and Teslas are not cheap right now at SCs. Last couple times I used an SC with my X, it was about $0.42/kw.

I prefer free like RAN and my R1S right now!
