Blinker noise is annoying.

I quite like the unique sound, and encourage other automakers to be more creative.
What I dislike is how the indicator sound becomes basically inaudible at speed. When stopped at an intersection/junction and signaling a turn ... the volume level is fine. When traveling at low speeds and signaling … the indicator sound is adequate but could be louder. When on the highway/interstate or whatever at higher speeds … you can’t even hear the indicator sound. Rivian should really modify it so the volume level is speed sensitive, or give drivers a choice.

I call BS on them sampling a wolf and two sticks to make the blinker noise...it is clearly the sound of a fingernail tapping on the bottom of an empty (Red) Solo Cup.

As for not using the blinker because you don't like the noise, you would be right at home in San Antonio...if you see someone with their blinker on, it's because it was on when they bought the car.

I’d love to see them add customization. I still miss the owl sound from Halloween.

Man I am sorry I ever posted this thread I hope the moderators can delete it. People complained about the suspension and Rivian fixed it. People complained about UI issues Rivian fixed it. There will always two sides to a problem. Some people didn't mind the suspension the way it was and some people did not like the suspension the way it was. Either way Rivian made it better. Complainning about what you do not like about a new start up company car is good for the company look at Tesla. The model Y was plagued with issues and the Tesla community made Tesla aware of the issues and now that product is solid after three years of over the air updates. I don't like the blinker noise that is my opinion. I should have done a poll it would have been easier to see who likes or dislikes the blinker noise.

I told you man, complain about anything in this forum and the fanboys come out with pitch forks and give you a head trip making you question your own sanity. Posting anything mildly critical on this forum is like being abducted and then slowly brainwashed into thinking it is your own fault.

On a side note, your poll proves that 75% of all Rivian owners are immune to Chinese water torture!!! Who knew we had so many tough compatriots that can handle torture...must be a lot of ex-special forces guys on this board.

I think it proves there is a minority of people who are just special and neurotic AF… to be this bothered by a f’ing turn signal.

Accusing anybody who doesn’t agree to be “Rivian sympathizers” is just lazy logic and a weak argument to make. In this thread alone, everyone can clearly see there are people who don’t mind the signal but are critical of the “streamlined” horn.

I wish it was more annoying. I keep leaving it on. Can’t these high tech cars detect “hey dummy, you’ve been driving straight for a while, you probably don’t need this turn signal on anymore”? I need that feature.

The blinker noise is not loud enough. I have left my blinker on so many times that I no longer use it, instead I went old school. Left hand turns are signaled with a left arm out the window and finger pointed in that direction. Right hand turns are indicated with the left arm out the window and bent up 90 degrees at the elbow. I find it's really hard to forget I'm signaling a turn, especially in winter. Not sure people behind me know what I'm doing but several have passed and flipped me off so I guess some drivers have noticed my turn signal.

I agree, don’t like the turn signal noise, but for those that like it, it would be wrong to just remove that choice. Would like to have options. I’m old, so I like the old mechanical turn signal noise, think it was from a relay switch. Could be wrong on that. Just wish they could program several different noises. Kinda like ring tones on your phones.

maybe a sound snip from certain songs when I hit the blinker.
