GearGuard videos to external flash drive -- "Unable for Format" error message

Trying to format a thumbdrive to save gearguard videos but every time I just get a "Unable for Format" error message.

Yes I have the latest updates.
Flash drive is 2T size, formatted as MSDOS (also tried exFAT).

Anyone every successfully mount a flashdrive in their Rivian?

Try an infotainment reset.

@godfodder0901 I assume you mean a Software RESET? I'm not familiar with resetting just the infotainment system.
I did a SOFTWARE reset but that did not change the behavior, still will not format the flash drive.

Has anyone been successful in formating a flash drive and using it to save video?

The two outer thumb buttons on the steering wheel. If that didn't help, you could try a full vehicle reset using the left outer thumb button and the hazard lights.

Yes I did the two outer button sequence. The doc refers to this as a SOFTWARE reset.

But i'm still trying to figure out if anyone has successfully formatted and saved video to a flash drive?

what brand & size of thumb drive are you using?

Maybe try deleting all the partitions on it first. I pulled a new one out of the box and it worked fine.

I am using this Samsung T7 Shield 1TB and it works fine. I know others have the same one.

I’m also using this set up. The Samsung T7 1TB. I had problems with a speed test error. I did a hard reboot based on SC advice and it worked.
