I don't care if they expand at all since most of the time I try to use EA I have to shuffle between broken chargers until I find one that works. The least they could do is display out of order on known broken chargers that have not been working for years.
Agreed, app needs to be up to date with actual current status of chargers.

Do I always get 200+kW charging speeds, absolutely not but I always get where I am trying to go. And FWIW last time I was at this station I got around 100kW and I didn't bitch about it.
I would have LOVED to be getting 100 kw at this location. Bitching about only getting 38 kw.

It's a good head up, but you are a victim of your own failure to plan.
Worth mentioning that "there first" doesn't entitle you to the whole station if you unfortunately picked a charger that wasn't working.
At least what I've observed, many people "waiting" for working chargers park in open (non-working) stalls while they wait to not block the aisle.

I don't road trip much, but when I do....its a manual affair checking out plugshare. ABRP is way too conservative, and Rivian maps just say I'll run out of juice and then I generally make it there with plenty of range. (In good climates, no wind/rain)

Just a reminder that a few important minutes looking on plugshare can make your experience much more enjoyable
Not every EV owner knows all the tricks they need to follow. They're told the car will route them to the nearest charger necessary to continue their trip.

I spend A TON OF TIME talking with other EV owners to help educate them so they can avoid the downfalls of EV ownership. Even at this stop, I had a woman practically in tears because she was SO THANKFUL at the information I gave her during a 10-15 minute conversation. She said "wow, I had no idea, thank you so much". Likewise, another elderly couple was very appreciative of my direction that they had enough charge to make it to Kettleman City and were able to save waiting at least two hours for one of these to open up.

Last week, a man with his family was struggling to get his new EV to charge. I went over and figured out the problem and got him charging after he'd been trying for nearly an hour, also being screwed by the long wait time to reach EA customer service.

These were just the ones in the past week. I've been driving EV's for more than a decade.

We all need to work together and help each other, rather than criticize with the "I told you so" type of replies. And to show each other common decency and respect, No saying the post I quoted was that, but some of the others are along that direction.

There's no reason that EA can't update the app to warn drivers that multiple chargers are out of order at each location. No excuse for that

Same here.

When Rivian stayed, "Stay Adventurous" I wasn't thinking that every trip over 200 miles would be it's own charging adventure. :(

I wish there was a way to tell the routing software to ignore specific charging locations. I thought ABRP might have something like this.
That's a great idea actually!!

It does if you use the ABRP app and are logged in. You can eliminate a charing location for just the current route or for all future routes.

Hopefully when the NACS-CCS adapter is actually available people fed up by the constant EA issues, excuses, etc.. will avoid them like the plague and drive them out of business. EA has done nothing but damage the image of "easy EV charging" and just needs to go away ASAP.

That would be terrible for EV adoption when everyone is waiting hours for a supercharger. We need more than just Tesla to support EV charging.

Well, at least they would actually get a charge at some point vs. wasting hours and getting squat from EA.

You honestly think if the lines at Tesla SC stations become "hours long" Tesla wouldn't deploy more stations? At least they seem to be able to get their equipment up and running in a short period when they want to.

EA has been run at below amateur levels from day one.. and they show no signs of turning things around.

Have you ever charged at an EA station or even been to one? I have been to dozens and have been able to charge at all of them. Sure some might be broken or slow but I've been able to charge at 100kw or higher.
