Real world dual-motor and max-pack reviews missing?

Yes of course it is not. That became clear when they started advertising 400+/- range. At best it was maybe 155 kWh
For a while, I was hoping that they were simply underpromising and potentially over-delivering.

I am definitely disappointed, as the whole spiel was that with the quad motor, there was not enough room for the extra cells, etc. And how it would not fit in the R1S.

So technically after waiting this long, one could potentially own a R1T/S quad and have a max pack battery.

I still want the extra range, and with preorder pricing, I am still okay-ish, but It will be interesting how the pricing is structured in the future and sales unfold. I wish them success, but it's hardly the battery that I was expecting.

Regarding space for extra battery: Early on I had read that the storage space under the rear bench would be utilized to house the extra battery capacity. That is not the case, there's sizable storage available, although I don't have direct comparison. Does anyone know battery details of max pack, e.g. number of cells vs large pack? I am wondering if max and large packs have similar cell numbers and Rivian just opened up the usable battery charge/discharge range...

I'm also waiting for any real world reviews for DM Max Pack. My R1T Performance Max Pack is supposed to be delivered within next 3 weeks, and I'm on the edge right now. Max Pack is definitely disappointing - I don't believe I will be able to tow my travel trailer with it for at least 200 miles.

I talked with someone on the team that said that they could not put extra battery under the rear bench since there was some safety blocker for that idea. Take that with a grain a salt.

We are getting 2.5 mi/kWh at 75-77 mph in warm ambient temperatures on our R1S PDM MP. We haven't had a chance to tow our trailer with it yet, but should have a chance next weekend.

FWIW, I‘m in Denver got a R1T dual motor large pack a month ago, 9/27. It‘s a basic trim in silver with 21s. If I can get one, Kyle can get one.

It’s my first Rivian and I have nothing to compare except the 2021 Audi e-tron I was driving before.. Mild fall weather means this is probably as good as it’s going to get. This is the total miles since new.

A big grain of salt because the Chevy Volt had a "T" shaped battery pack with the top section of the "T" being directly under the back seat. The straight 2-part section was encased in the old drive shaft hump that ICE cars used to have and the "T" was under the rear bench seat. So, the whole battery was literally in the cabin of the vehicle.

I have the large pack and the GOM always corresponds to the EPA number, i.e., 352 mi at 100%. I doubt you can get the rated in a Rivian but I hope I’m wrong. My Audi matched the rated range in most conditions but I am getting the feeling Rivian followed Tesla and certified the most optimistic range to the EPA.

That's good information but it would also be good to know the size of the pack. I don't think anyone has officially confirmed the actual Max Pack size. Regardless, your efficiency numbers are extremely good. In my Mustang Mach-e, I average 2.4 m/kWh when I set the cruise to 80 mph. Even at 77, I'm somewhere between 2.4 and 2.5. The R1 is a brick compared to my car.

I'm pretty sure electrons were going into the battery, haha.

Not just me. Plus the Rivian told me what was going into the battery on a 0-95% charge.
