My family has the Rivian, so they can track my car. If the thief takes the phone my family can contact cell phone email cell company remove the phone and all information on phone. Check with your provider. Thief ends up with dead phone and stop care.

Former LE here and avid supporter of 2A ....

You let them have the vehicle. Assuming you're being car jacked, they already have the drop on you. You're at such a tactical disadvantage at that point, your best bet to survive is to comply. That's why we all have insurance. Yes, the vehicle can be tracked and thats better accomplished by LE.

Bear spray in the door is a recipe for suicide. I hold countless firearms certifications, ranging from the military all the way to civilian and everything in between. Unless your life is about to be imminently taken, you don't reach for a gun, bear spray, sling shot or spit ball shooter if someone has the drop on you.

Rivian App shows vehicle location
I think @Willyspu was looking for something browser-based and not device-specific in case your device(s) with the Rivian app got stolen with the vehicle.

Get safe, borrow a cell, call cop, have family call cell phone provider to erase you cell phone. Cops and Insurance company will be in a hurry to find the vehicle.

I had a Turo guess that rented out our Tesla model X, first couple hours was fine, then I keep getting an alert about exceeding 90MPH, every couple minutes. I set the Max speed, which I can do on the Tesla app, and will get an alert when the guess get close or exceed 90MPH. I thought the guess was just heading to LA for the weekend, 8 hours later, with so many speeding alert, the guess was close to San Diego, I reached out and reminded the guess, that is unsafe to drive recklessly and excessively. Once the guess got to AZ, and turned southbound, and stop at supercharger, I stopped the charge using the app, and also turned on Valet mode, which limit the speed to 70MPH and lock the Frunk and disable the navigation and other settings.

hopefully someday, our RT1, will have live video through the app when it’s park. And live location when driving.

Also a manual driver, and suspect something similar may happen here. Give them the car, get to a safe distance, count how long it takes for them to look for the ignition button and figure out the gear stalk. I bet you'll have a good couple of minutes of entertainment, hopefully while waiting for the cops to surround them.

I will be a new R1T owner as of T-Day 2023 and have never owned an EV or any vehicle with enhanced anti-theft functions. Bear with me with this perhaps naïve question:

If someone points a gun at me and demands my key card, carabiner, or phone to control the truck how do I block their use? Will giving them the "keys" enable their full access? Is there a password I can implement? Will tracking assist Rivian in finding the stolen truck?
Thanks in advance for your help; I plan to keep bear spray in the door pouch regardless.

Agree with others, let them have the keys/card, dont immediately risk your life when you can track them with the app and work with law enforcement. Also… they might not get far if they are not used to driving an electric vehicle (esp with one pedal driving enabled).

As an additional safety step, I have a close friend who I’ve set up with their own key access in the Rivian app. They are my back up if anything happens to me and I need to be located, or the vehicle needs to be tracked. Additionally, I can track THEM when they borrow my Rivian.

I am running Home Assistant with the Rivian (unofficial) integration. It provides access to vehicle location which I can monitor via a web browser. I haven't opened up access to my Home Assistant instance from the internet, so I can only track the vehicle location while connected to the home wi-fi.
