Our keyfob battery is showing low on console, barely 5+ weeks delivery of r1s. Hopefully in our Oct SC appointment will take care of this for good and also provide spare battery.
same here. Replace a new battery and shows low in about a month later.

FWIW, I think this problem is caused when you place your fob on the console charging pad. I was getting that same warning but was told at a body shop that placing the fob there was very bad for it. I no longer place the fob there and now I no longer get that error. I did not replace the battery. I am 13 months in with this truck and key fob.

Yeah, I got the same warning, but from the tech during my Rivian pick up. Highly recommend a set of these. Far better option than setting the keys in your lap.

@BestEvMod(AOSK) can share more info.

Lately I've been leaving the key in the drawer of my nightstand.

Ours is on a hook in the kitchen with other unused keys. Have only used the fob once, when bringing it in for service. Otherwise it's just our phones with a keycard as a backup.

I leave my FOB in my pocket but I've only had the R1S for 41 days.

For those replacing batteries don't buy them from Ikea as I found those batteries only last a few months in my older car.

With the design they have I wish they would just use a standard AAA battery that I can easily replace with a rechargeable instead of these button batteries.

I've had my R1T since Jan and I pretty much always lay it on the QI charging pad while driving. Still on my original fob battery as well.

+1 going through FOB batteries every ~2 months. I figured I got an old one at delivery and the 5-pack from Amazon is sub par. Maybe it’s the FOB after seeing this thread. I just bought Energizer Lithium branded cr2450s to see if they last longer.

My fob battery needs to be replaced every 6 to 8 weeks, and I am not even using it. It is not the battery, it is some battery drain when the fob sits in the drawer.

For those of you wearing out your fob batteries quickly - do you have fob proximity unlocking turned on (even if you're not using your fob)? Something must be using that battery, because a life of only a few months is not normal. My fob battery has lasted 14 months and counting, and I use my fob as my primary key everyday.

Something is wrong with your setup... I hope you put in a service ticket with Rivian?

Has anyone found a resolution for this?

My key fob sits in the kitchen most of the time, I do NOT have proximity sensing enabled for it, and I'm having to replace the battery about every 6-8 weeks.

I don't use my fob, but every time I reach for it - battery is dead. 4 batteries in 1 year.
They had to put a fresh battery in when I took delivery.

Yeah. Don’t use it. Graduate to 2024 technology and use your phone.
