Right now we don't have additional pictures. Rims are getting ready to be shipped and next pictures we will be ready to provide when they arrive at our Dallas warehouse.

It is also not machined as you have mentioned. The process required us to paint the whole rim in satin black and then apply a transparent black color for the face part of the spokes.

Thanks for the additional info. So the "transparent black" portion of the wheel isn't really transparent, it's just a lighter grey paint on those top surfaces?

Yep, that's another way to describe it! We refer to it as "Transparent black," but it's understandable that it might appear as a slightly different shade to others

I prefer more of the classic straight five spokes and not fond of the side wings on the spokes. Is there an option for removal of those on the design, with the BF discount?

It will be the even better option if you coming from 21" or 22" and don't want to deal with SC to recalibrate your R1

Absolutely, we recognize that everyone has unique preferences, and it's true that R&D can often be more time-consuming than some might expect. That's why we're pleased to offer any of our existing designs in whatever specs you desire at no additional cost, while also maintaining the current discount. This process is relatively straightforward for us.

However, when it comes to revising an existing design or creating a new one from scratch, the terms are different due to the additional time and resources involved.

We're excited to share that we are developing new designs for Rivian vehicles. At this moment, there aren't any classic 5-spoke stars in the lineup, and we're still determining the timeline for their reveal. Our focus is also on expanding our range for other EV owners, so there's a lot happening behind the scenes! ?

I had the wheels in my cart when the 25% code for the first 5 pre-orders was still available, but couldn't pull the trigger because I was hesitant on the overall look (not that they're bad, just not for me). Looking forward to see what you release next. Is there a way to sign up to be notified when they're released?

Hello There,

Of course, we can't disclose every single aspect of our operations but we are trying to stay transparent and I'll be trying to do my best.

Our team of designers and engineers is here in the States, also our processing facility is here, specifically in the Dallas, TX area.

After finishing the design we manufacture test rims at the factory in China, to make sure to put them through the number of tests and make sure all specifications and characteristics are followed what we want them to have. This series of tests includes but is not limited to load rating tests, radial measurements, etc.

If everything is as designed, we will start manufacturing the batch.

Every single rim goes through quality control after each step of manufacturing. When billets are ready they are measured and checked.

Then after machining, we check all parameters.

if all is good rims are going to the next steps such as painting. Again, after each step, each rim is checked for any issues.

After that, we are weighting random rims of each design to make sure the weight is correct. Here is a picture of the finished and ready-to-be-packed [AW10] 20x9.0" Satin + Transparent Black. Without the center cap, it is 13.8 KG which is equal to 30.42 LBS. Since the center cap for [AW10] is made only from aluminum, the final weight is around 30.7 lbs, but we are advertising the weight as 31 lbs, because there could be a slight difference between rims, due to manual powder-coat application. It falls under industry standards.

When everything is completed, the whole batch is getting packaged. Even here at the packaging step, we are checking rims for possible problems.

When everything is packed, the whole batch is loaded into a container and it is traveling to Dallas.

Here, after receiving the batch we open every single box and do additional visual quality checks.

If a set is pre-ordered, we are taking pictures of it and communicating with the customer. If the customer agrees to complete the purchase, we will finalize payment, and ship the set to the final destination

Also, to clarify, I wasn’t implying anything negative towards QC/offshore manufacturing. It’s genuinely interesting to see how much is involved in this process.

We did not take it as something negative! We were transparent about where our rims are manufactured from 1st second and it's not going to change We are glad you're curious about how things are working
