Latest on their throughput picked up on 8/2 and filed my service ticket that night. Got 10/6 as the first availability between El Segundo and Costa Mesa.

Non-critical bodywork stuff. Annoying as it delayed me getting PPF applied. Even told the SC before pickup that I'd gladly wait a few more days or weeks to save myself a trip back if they could dial it in. But arrived to paint chips, panel misalignment. Anyway, working with my PPF installer to get it wrapped anyway and then the paint chip panel unwrapped before taking it into service.

my experience with this service center has been pretty poor to say the least.

I had a service visit where they let me know that some body panel alignments weren't able to be fixed at the service center and my vehicle needed to go to the body shop. They gave me a day to come back where I verified that I would drop off at service center and they would take it to the shop on my behalf. When I got there that day, they mentioned that the body shop didn't have an appointment for me (which was their responsibility to take care of).

Currently have a crack on my windshield which has spread the entire length. Earliest they can get me in is October..

Two months is very short compared to up here in NorCal for a repair that has nothing to do with driveability.

I had an appointment in October that I was able to reschedule for 9/1 through the app. Definitely helps the keep checking to see what pops up.

Not sure if there were any posts discussed this.

I took my R1S for service today and here is what I found (driver side power windows switch does not work, etc):
- since it is all booked up, It took almost one month to get service in Costa mesa.
- it takes at least one week to diagnose and fix all issues.
- they require all issues be logged at service request at lease 5 days before service day. (they used to allow driver to add more issues to ticket during servicing which made service take longer)

Staff said lately there have been many new deliveries, making service team very busy.
Do you guys have the same experience lately?

I think they really need to open more service centers fast in SoCal area. Such long wait harm the experience.
Yes, just posted my first service experience….UNACCEPTABLE!

Just took my R1S in for few items that I book back in September.

Couple of interesting info that you guys might find interesting.

1) Eastvale opens for service next week (don't know if that's an official week, but my service advisor told me they just moved couple of appointment for Big Bear owners to Eastvale for next week). The technical staff is all trained and ready to go at Eastvale.

2) Irvine/Lakeforest service center to open September 2024. Sounds like It will be off Bake near Trabucco Canyon.

Drop the vehicle off and ET of completion is 7~10 days...ohy. Its just for minor adjustment of the hood and lift gate, and to install compact spare kit.

At least they didn't rebook the appointment date, like many.

More SCs in CA will be welcomed. Went through the same service woes with Tesla in the early days. Did not really get much better in SoCal until the last few years.

When we got our Tesla, CM service center was the only one in the area. Being in south OC, when they opened Lake Forest, I was glad that there were another option. Now they are opening one in Aliso Viejo - even closer.

That said, I had only 1 visit to the CMSC due to physical service bulletin on a rear suspension bushing shortly after taken delivery. Two other service call were both handled via mobile service (12V battery replacement under warrantee - Tesla app notified me and essentially scheduled the service, and charge port cover hinge replacement, again another service bulletin).

Our Tesla has been the most trouble free vehicle we've owned. Absolutely been great. We've owned over 20 different vehicles over the years. We're hoping that our Rivian will follow suit :)

Please post your experience at Eastvale once you get your vehicle in for service.

Sat at the Service Center parking lot outside for a full week, then on the evening of the 7th day, it was taken into the shop. App can tell where the vehicle is and if the vehicle is sleeping, locked or unlocked, moved and the mileage change, along with SOC.

The reasons for the service appointment was completed in less than couple of hours, then the vehicle was returned to a parking spot outside.

Got notified that the vehicle is ready to pick up the following morning before 6am.

Got the vehicle back with 20% SOC drained (left it at 71% and got it back at 49%), dirty floor mats, hand prints on the exterior and not washed, and not charged.

Never got an update from them. Only to tell me that it's done.

The whole process is flawed. Having to drop the vehicle off just to be in a queue for a week is ridiculous. They can easily assign queue number once you check in for your service date using the app. Once checked in, get a queue number and bring the vehicle in a day ahead of time - not a week. This would save them so much on vehicle rental costs (I didn't take one since we have extra vehicles).

Mine in Nov is so-so also.

They return my r1s with 30% SoC. It went down to single digit when arrived home. 2-3 charging ports are just not enough for a EV only service center.
There was a weird SOS warning on screen when I first got on. They had to take it back to the shop. It took them 5 mins to clear the message.
It was dirty after stayed outside for a week. They apologized and offered car wash. I was in a rush but will request that in the future.

the fixes were done as expected.
