I decided to go with this setup (links below), as it's super flush and the cable will not have to be coiled. I plan to route down the passenger's side of the UI display so the driver will see nothing, wire wise. BTW, the shortest right angle USB-C to USB-C cable that will work is 2.5 feet. Just measured for you all!

UPDATE:

So it works as expects, however, this charger's USB-C "out" was dead, but it's QC USB 3.0 worked, when paired with a USB-C adapter. I'm sending this charger back and would not recommend. Got this highly rated Amazon pick for $9.99, to replace the one pictured. It arrives later today.

Cable wise, I prefer th the "UGREEN" pictured on the right.

Are there any specific things you all would like me to test, or report on, and include in my "Part II" report, coming next week? If so, please post those here and tag @EV Sportline ?
Not unless you can pair a Pixel 7 to it and report on using Waze and YouTube Music simultaneously.

Bonus points for using Waze and YouTube Simultaneously (for sound--I have a lot of podcasts that are actually vlogged; with YouTube Premium, you can listen to YouTube in the background).

But...that's just like..my very specific use case anyway ;) !

Sorry to hear that.

We can't all be amazing all the time ;)
(Just kidding--I'm not here to debate the inarguable superiority of Android)

Update on the UPDATE....

So, the second mini charger arrived, from a different manufacturer and the result was the same - no powering the display from the USB-C port on the 12v charger - just via the QC USB 3.0 port on the charger... I had thought my cables were power and data, so will need to investigate. In any case, it works well!

Thoughts? Anyone?

I figured this out - On all of these chargers, the USB-C port is based on the "PD" higher current standard, whereas the USB 3.0 port is based on the the lower current "QC" standard. The display draws so little power that the USB-C "PD" port on the charger does not activate. Details can be found here...

So for these 12V adapters you are saying we need to use a USB A to USB C cable?

How are you finding the responsiveness of the display? (Does it lag your touch input? Any issues with pinch to zoom in/out?)

Yes, if you use these two (nice) small 12v plug chargers. Perhaps you can find another that is C to C with the "C" charging port set to the "QC" and not "PD" standard. Probably easier to get an A to C right angle cable that is 2.5-3' long and use the "C" PD port for things like high speed tablet/laptop/phone charging, when the charging pad will not be fast enough.

@jebinc How’s the maps navigation audio prompts when played via bluetooth to the Rivian when you are also streaming other audio via CarPlay? Does the other audio source mute/soften when the navigation audio prompts audio come up?

What about if your phone is not bluetooth connected to the Rivian? Audio comes from the 1EV display?

Q. What about if your phone is not bluetooth connected to the Rivian? Audio comes from the 1EV display?

A. Either the display, or to the Rivian via the "FM" transmitter option

A. With iMessages, the streaming audio mutes/pauses as the display reads the message and takes your dictated reply. Haven't ran a route via nav yet, but I would assume something similar. Perhaps @EV Sportline can answer that specific use case.

Any issues with the display staying connected to your phone after departing the vehicle at home?

I tried one of the diy solutions previously, and that was one of my biggest pain points. My phone wouldn't be connected to home wifi because it was still projecting CarPlay to the truck.
