Q. Any issues with the display staying connected to your phone after departing the vehicle at home?

I tried one of the diy solutions previously, and that was one of my biggest pain points. My phone wouldn't be connected to home wifi because it was still projecting CarPlay to the truck.

A. Phone will stay connected to the display for the short period the truck keeps the accessory circuit energized, before shutting off - if your phone is close enough to the truck during period. Alternatively, you could just push the off button on the top of the display when leaving the truck and not have any delay connecting to the home wifi in any situation. @travbz814

Q. What about if your phone is not bluetooth connected to the Rivian? Audio comes from the 1EV display?

A. Either the display, or to the Rivian via the "FM" transmitter option


Q. How’s the maps navigation audio prompts when played via bluetooth to the Rivian when you are also streaming other audio via CarPlay? Does the other audio source mute/soften when the navigation audio prompts audio come up?

A. With iMessages, the streaming audio mutes/pauses as the display reads the message and takes your dictated reply. Haven't ran a route via nav yet, but I would assume something similar. Perhaps @EV Sportline can answer that specific use case.

That’s the way it works with other carplay devices I’ve used: imessage and navigation prompts mute other carplay audio sources.

is it possible to mount this below the vents in the center stack (below middle screen)? I don't like the appearance with the 3rd screen sticking up above the dash /middle screen.

I had a much smaller Chinese display mounted in that space and it was not ideal. Blocked pop out cup holders, limited access to the storage tray and couldn't find a secure place to mount it to. In short, not viable without a lot of modification work.

Nope, no insight. Re review request, looking for the good, bad and ugly, if any exists.

I figured this out - On all of these chargers, the USB-C port is based on the "PD" higher current standard, whereas the USB 3.0 port is based on the the lower current "QC" standard. The display draws so little power that the USB-C "PD" port on the charger does not activate. Details can be found here...

Since you are using the Cigarette light under the dash to power the display what happens when you leave the car does the monitor automatically shutdown or do you have to manually turn of the display.
I had sent an email to EV Sportsline and they mentioned that the reason they like to hardwire the device to the fuse box is so the display will turn on / off automatically
I want to purchase the display yet if possible would rather just use the cigarette socket to power it

Both the fuse panel and 12v cigarette lighter plug are on the AUX/Accessory circuit and both energize and cut power at the same time. I’ve powered the display both ways. The display turns off shortly after leaving it, along with everything else in that circuit. There is also a button on the top of the display if you want to deposit it at any time.

You find a suitable usb charger and cable for cigarette adapter?

So far I’ve been lucky enuf to not need to tap into the fuse boxes after having both the 12v under dash and doing a mirror tap for radar.

How easy are the fuse boxes to access for a fuse tap?

I’m recovering from a foot injury now and can’t contort too well. Or mebbe I’m just too large and have the flexibility of a 2x4.
