Well, I just bought a 3rd Rivian

Today, I took a morning flight from Phoenix, AZ to Burbank, CA and bought from a private owner a used 2023 R1S Quad, Large, 21’s, Limestone, Ocean Coast to go along with my existing R1T and R1S.

I drove it back to Phoenix and arrived a couple hours ago. Will provide more details tomorrow. For now, I really need a bourbon (and maybe a cigar).

Just a few quick pics for now of the new to me ride, my stupidly (and thankfully temporarily) congested carport, and of my trip data. I actually kind of enjoyed the ride home - despite the distance and duration.

I too just got my 3rd Rivian on Tuesday. I have a car obsession and I should probably find someone to talk to about it….as with most things unfortunately, when I find something I really like I start buying multiples and extras…

I think Rivian makes an amazing product as most of you know. It’s just such an incredible machine. As far as luxury…it doesn’t beat the 23 Range Rovers are they are probably the most luxurious vehicles ever built (the new body style). However, my daily is a Rivian. Just a fun vehicle to drive. I am rooting for RJ and the team to continue this journey. I tell people all the time that I am blown away by how well they did on the first vehicles they ever built…truly amazing.

What does your better half think of this? I can't even get my wife to accept my gift of slightly-subsidized R1S ownership, she's going for independent boss-lady Rav4 Prime over taking my moneys. I'm tempted to get the R1S without her to prove a point, but what's the point?

LOL, my wife had no problem with the money, but she still didn't want an R1S, so I had to get her a BMW i4 M50. Why she didn't want the R1S "It's too big; I don't want to drive that around." Yet she has no problem driving my Truck that's 17" longer.

I'm still waiting for @Count Orlok to finish up his DC charger install so I can justify doing the same thing. "Look, I'm not the only crazy that installed one of these in his garage!"

I've thought about that too. I decided against it because I didn't want random people at my house for any reason. The count bought a commercial property to do it, and I thought about installing one at my commercial property too. That thought is still ongoing because it most likely will require an upgrade to my electrical service. That might be better served once I build a new building which might be many years off.
