Might be the front door, but yeah, there's an alignment issue for sure. If you look at the way the back of the rear door lines up with the gear tunnel and the other panel behind it, there's no way the rear door could be lifted or tilted to align with the front where it is.
The panel gap looks uneven along the rear of the rear door, too. Hopefully they fix these issues before deliveries.

Launch Green doesn't look like what I expected -- much lighter. I like it. I want to see Limestone!

It still floats my boat, but all of the colors look really nice and the R1T takes on a different look in each one.

Seeing one in black really stood out as being a cool ride for the city. Living in the Northwest, the heat buildup wouldn't be that big of a problem, like it would be in Southern Cal, Arizona, Texas, Florida, etc.

Another thing about the heat, the glass rooftop didn't seem to be letting any in, although I wasn't really behind the wheel in the heat of the day. From the backseat especially, the view through the glass was a huge plus. I can envision Yosemite, Sequoia, and other Adventure lands where it will provide beautiful views of the cliffs, mountains, and trees above. If the view of the Grand Canyon presents itself through that glass, it's been really nice knowing you.
Of all those on this forum, I'm very happy to see that you were chosen to attend. Thanks for sharing! Looking forward to more of your insights.

Kyle,

To answer your question, I'm the one on left. I think you know the other guy by now. And this, folks, is what Launch Green looks like. If you look carefully, you'll also see the Rivian Grin stuck on my face, just as it was on all of the small, but very fortunate group in attendance. My face is hurting now as that grin us still there.

To a person, we all felt extremely fortunate to have been selected. To say it was life-altering to be a part of it is not an exaggeration for me, and I'm not even talking yet about the R1Ts we were allowed to sprint, drift, climb, rock-crawl, and fly through fields of tall grass in.

I'll be adding more later today, as I'm still trying to get down from Cloud Nine after last week. I'll just let you know these vehicles are just as awesome as the team that is currently building them.

I think many of you know I'm pretty upbeat and optimistic. I went into this event with unrealistically high expectations, and somehow, RJ and the entire Rivian family managed to blow my expectations out of the water.

How's that for a teaser....Oh yeah, along with 130 MPH....

More to follow.....
Guys, you are missing the biggest news. When somebody says “is that Launch Green” the answer is yes!!!

LG w/ FE interior might just be the new hotness
Launch Green and Forest Edge do complement each other perfectly. The paint swatch looks so much darker than it does on the truck. Like many of the colors, this must be one you have to see in person to get a true impression of how it looks.

That looks more like what I would expect Limestone to look like than Launch Green.
Exactly my thought - which makes me happy, because I really like the chalkbut the Mrs. will need convincing ? .

Happy for you, my friend! Look forward to more posts with more details.

Not gonna lie, I was hoping for more of that brownish tinge in the LG color, but it still looks great. Besides, 130MPH and 0-60 in 3 secs is brown-inducing in other ways (ok, I'll see myself out ). ?

Wow that is pretty crazy is that is the pain sample, Id be totally curious to see it in a different light. Its definitely some color shifting pearls in there almost chameleon style paint.

You sir are a MVP.
Kanundrum,

Thank you for that, But what I feel like is a Very Fortunate Person. When I got word of being a part of this, I told the team member that "you just brought tears to 64-year old man's eyes" and the actual event was really that special.

Back to the colors, ten pictures of one color with the same camera would all look different, based solely on the angle at which the sample was tilted. I'm really looking forward to everyone else's feedback after you see, touch, smell, and drive these things. You likely won't hear much as they are stealthy quiet, even at 130 MPH. Should your sense of taste get involved, well, you can leave that out of your comments, unless they cook up one of their delicious meals on the Camp Kitchen like they did both days.

Regarding the Camp Kitchen, the Slide Rail, and the Peak Cookware set, I originally thought it was priced very much on the high side. After bundling them and seeing and tasting the KC's capabilities, I realized the many meals I'll forego in restaurants will equal savings. Accordingly, the more I use it, the more I'll save. Now I just need a beer to wash down my nicely-prepared rationalizations.
Almost like they’re meant to compliment each other ?

if I’d put My preorder in early enough to get an LE, it would’ve been launch green. Forest green is a fine substitute
Amen to all of what you said!

You deserve it simply for being such a positive member of this community! I hope to see the vehicle soon so I can't wait for these nationwide tours to kickoff (pending any issues now that things are getting sketchy again).

1. So happy for you @DuckTruck. Tbh I'm surprised you didn't try to make a run for it with the truck.

2. Random thought, but what's the low speed sound sound like? I know we were all curious several months ago, and I think everyone sort of forgot about it. I know I did till you mentioned it rolling in, and the. Being stupidly quiet at speed.

Duck,
Appreciate all the feed back you are providing, congrats on being one of the chosen I'm sure it was a grand time.

Just a couple of questions if you have any additional information that can or are willing to share.

1) What was your impression of the fit and finish, I know from some of your earlier post you have had some higher end cars in your driveway for a solid comparison.

2) How was the material quality? Do they hit the high end market?

3) Any chance they shared anything about EPA range or watts per mile? Did you see any of this while you were driving it

4) What were a couple of things that surprised you (good or bad) based on what you have heard or expected.

As a few have said, you are a perfect person from the forum, especially with your ability to provide such colorful and verbose late night posts that entertain many of us.

Just saw the video of Launch Green from Insta, and it looks great outdoors as well. Time to go update my configuration.

Congrats @DuckTruck! A nicer guy could not have been picked. I'm very glad you were one selected to attend.
Cohall,

Thank you! That means a lot to me, especially coming from you!

The event was truly amazing, but the big highlight was meeting and getting to know the entire team and the other fortunate Riviots. I'm sure many people here will disagree with me, but knowing I'll get a full tutorial on all of the User Interface and other details when I take possession of my R1T freed me from spending much time doing that. I doubt I'll ever get the opportunity to spend the kind of dedicated time together with the entire Rivian team the way we did for two days.

What was really enjoyable was getting a tour around the track and up and over the obstacles and drifting through the sand and rocks with RJ at the wheel while I was riding shotgun. He had complete confidence racing around the testing grounds at enjoyably high speeds with a combination of laughs and screams coming from the back seat while RJ is simultaneously pointing out features while also explaining the reasoning behind them.

My attention with the R1T was focused on having the testing grounds available for my test-drive. What an incredible vehicle! A silent, all-wheel drive sports car with 15-inches of ground clearance and amazing All-Terrain tires. It tackled the boulder field that makes up the South Face of Mt. Rivian, while easily rolling down the 45% North face of packed gravel and dirt. Get to the bottom, RJ whips a u-turn and we do it all again from the other direction. Unbelievable!

More to follow....

Tank turns, or is that something we don't talk about?
