Porsche applies regen via the brake pedal in the Macan EV.

While I also really like OPD for daily driving, there are two key areas where I was never able to get the same driveability out of it:

1) spirited driving in the twisties, and

2) snow driving, especially spirited driving in the twisties in snow
Exactly. One pedal driving is good for certain situations, but not all. I prefer one pedal braking. Splitting brake performance across two pedals isn’t always a good thing. I think Porsche is well aware, given their niche target.

Really beautiful vehicle. Like all Porsches the options are killer $$$$$.

New platform though is key here. This will be used by Audi and VW to make their EVs as well.

I agree. I love OPD for DD but for driving spirited with corners....I prefer Porsche approach.

Since the Porsche is more of a performance slanted offering, their brake implementation makes total sense.

Now.....software could probably easily make both work in same vehicle and give user ability to decide depending on driving situation.

Reasonably optioned (for a Porsche) turbo: $122K. Not too bad given Porsche quality and service (this for a 30 year Porsche owner). Too bad I don’t really need one. Guess I’l wait for the e-Boxster.

Pricing is wacko. You can get a Macan S with the same performance for $16K USD less up here. I don't care how many advantages EVs have over ICE at that price disparity.

I find OPD superior for in the twisties. The speed control is quicker and more sensitive you'd have to drive with both feet to match it without OPD. That is the area OPD is the most useful IMO.

Oh, a *real* luxury SUV with a *real* sound system. ;-) Too small though. Hopefully, they will eventually offer a Cayenne EV.

I agree. With my model 3 performance in track mode is has plenty of regen to get decent braking in the twisties. (Even in my Lotus Elise, I tend to do OPD because it has pretty high engine braking when at high RPM.) But, I have more fun taking turns fast than accelerating/braking.
