There is an exemption for manufacturer specific stations - probably negotiated by Tesla:Eventually it will need to show it directly on the charger so it can’t be tampered with. Tesla will be grandfathered in initially, but eventually they will have to comply to sell electricity in California. Even on their Tesla only stations.
A publicly available EVSE does not include:
(iii)An EVSE provided by a manufacturer of electric vehicles for the exclusive use by vehicles it manufactures.
If they do open them up to other manufacturers, then they would need to comply with the provisions of display, labeling, credit card reader, etc.
