While the factory Rivian crossbars are nice, I love that these Thule bars are one piece bars. The bars fit any position factory mounts on the Rivian, the width adjustment is made at the interface of the rail and mount.

Is the front bar on backwards?

Mine did not whistle on the Subaru. But the vehicle was so noisy, I’m not sure I would have noticed

I ask because I've seen people complain about the Rivian x Yakima bars whistling. If these do too and cost nearly as much, I don't see what the benefit is other than different aesthetics, different and non-aero profile of towers and a solid bar instead of a telescopic one.

I didn’t hear any whistling when I would open the sunroof on the Impreza. I had two bike mounts (front wheel off) on top of the bars

I think they are implying the solid non-adjustable bar is more stout than the factory telescopic.

No whistle. Driving around town, barely notice them (noise-wise). On the highway, It makes wind noise over 65-70mph. It's not annoying whistle, but it is a wind noise i can hear!

ha, it does look backwards! good catch.

Correct - more rigid than stock. They are black too, which is nice if that's the look you want.

Or if you want to mount something in the middle of the bars because the mounting slot is across the entire bar.

Rated at 220lbs dynamic by Thule, which seems ultra conservative considering the solid bar design. No telling what Rivian uses for threshholds when they rate theirs; brand to brand is not consistent. Thule vs Yakima, both good quality. I would consider these close to equivalent.

In this position as shown on the roof, wouldn’t they need to be wider for the bed installation? It appears they’re already at the end of travel here.
Or am I missing something?

Can you get longer bars?

I ask because I found that pretty useful on a previous vehicle to have more width to put things up there. And clearly the mounts can allow for it, but the cross bars look like they might not.
