Ughhhh. I knew it was a bad idea to valet in this garage. It was so tight. Sure enough the driver rubbed a wall and did damage to the front passenger plastic corner of the bumper. I’m hoping this isn’t too bad to replace
it seems like a separate piece that clicks in to the actual bumper.

Anyone have this replaced before?

That blows. Hopefully you noticed it right away and valet company will pay for damages.

That sensor is going to make it 10x more expensive than "just a piece of plastic". Hopefully they can reuse the sensor, but it probably only comes as a complete assembly. Good luck, let us know what they work out.

The sensor seems to still work and I don’t have any incidents in my alerts so I’m hoping it’s not too bad. I did get a report from the valet so they should be covering it regardless.

Totaled.

Real talk: get the finest sandpaper you can find, probably wet stuff, and lightly wet sand it. Then take some Cerakote or other plastic restoration stuff and rub the whole bumper to match. I had some scratches on mine from offroad fun that ended in a high-center ? and now you can't really tell.

And the sensor wire harness is one time use

If the sensor still works I would just DIY fix it and use the valet insurance money on good bourbon

Any idea how to know for sure or test the sensor?

Test the sensor- get real close to something by stopping late, merging with car next to you. I’ve hit my front end pretty hard off roading with no damage to any of the sensors. Sensors pop out of the plastic and can be reused when undamaged along with the wiring harness. Buff it out and buy your favorite drink.

I hate valet parking!

Why should I trust my $85K vehicle to some kid who's still in high school?

Sorry OP, that sucks!
