When the h-e-double hockey sticks will the post-retooling (not saying, ahem, refreshed, ahem) R1s hit the Shop?

Do they really have so much pre-retooling inventory even after a month long shutdown that it won’t be in May?

Why is there talk of waiting until Investor Day (late June)? Investors like to talk about COGS not new wheel designs.

Waaaaaahhh!!! I want it NOW.

Bonus points to anyone who has insights and avoids referencing the Osborne effect. (References to Ozzy Osbourne, however, are encouraged.)

Rivian spaces employee told me to expect some type of announcement event around the last week in May.

Ozzy was otherwise booked, and won't be performing at this event.
Ugh. That’s still forever away. In the meantime, I guess I’ll just be barking at the moon.

What is the big deal? Nothing much should visually or structurally change about the R1, they were just increasing line efficiency and cost cutting.

The shop still allows you to configure new cars.
So either there's no a big refresh in the design/features or they are doing that just to lure people to sell current inventory.

New website updates are coming.

IDK I was emailing with someone in Rivian sales this morning. Trying to find an R1T without the PTC.

He assured me I better hurry up and buy a 2023 R1T because they wouldn't be making any more

if the hardware is updated to take advantage of future driver+ updates that’s a good reason to wait & further future proof your vehicle.

In the same boat. Not in a rush ATM so I'm sitting tight. The things rumored, mostly the heat pump would be great since I live in Canada, so that's why I'm waiting for the time being. But if they manage to provide incentives in Canada, I may crack

Agreed it might be “nothing much” but I follow this forum in part because I’m interested in (obsessed with?) the little things. What if they tweak the light bar? What if they drop in that new steering wheel we saw on the R2? What if there’s a heat pump or electrochromic roof?

At the very least, I bet it’s a little lighter. If so, it will be slightly more efficient in the real world which means better range (even if only a mile or two) and lower overall long term operating costs.

No more without the PTC? So you R1T folks will have to pay for it and then wait for it to break? ?

No he meant they wouldn't be making anymore 2023s... it's a pretty silly thing to say.

Exact quote: "I would caution against waiting as we will not be producing any more 2023's and already have a very limited supply."

Right now at least it seems 100% of R1Ts in the shop come with a free PTC. He offered me a couple that didn't but not anything I wanted more than my LE.
