YouTube App and Google Cast video streaming coming to Rivian infotainment system

There are iOS apps such as DoCast that mirror an iPhone of iPad screen via chromecast. I'll be curious about what that might bring to the party.

? This is of little value to me. Only works in park, maybe some minimal value while waiting at a DC charger? Providing better traffic data would be awesome, but not PR worthy I suppose. The ability to voice text, like I did in 2014, well before AA was introduced, is more important to me, but again, I wouldn't like to author that PR statement either.

Video streaming in a vehicle is not on my list. Audio entertainment sure, how about that SIrius XM native streaming?

Maybe the video streaming works in Pet Mode? My dog might enjoy it.

Thats all fine and dandy for while parked... I want something to cast to the rear screen(s) for the kids while driving!

haha, if I told my kids to watch something on that rear screen they would look at me like I was crazy..... and then turn their attend back to their tablets or phones which both have larger screens

This is good. Will be nice to watch Sandy Munro almost crying while defending Elon on the big screen while charging. I feel for those with kids who need something while in motion though.

I watched the first two minutes of boondocks saints in the car wash today on my Fisker. Definitely need shorter content for some specific situations.

FYI: these features will likely require signing up for Rivian’s data service subscription. Casting media will download via Rivian’s data plan, if it follows the casting protocol.

If it only works in park, you might be able to get it to work through your phone's hotspot.

While Rivian customers are some of the most satisfied in the segment, the infotainment of its current models leaves a bit to be desired. Sure, you can download wellness apps like Headspace and Sleepio or manage your company using Workday, but in terms of entertainment, the second half and ultra-popular word in the central display’s portmanteau, Rivian could do better.
