After reading a thread where a forum member paid close to $.90 per kilowatt hour at a Pilot/FlyingJ facility I want to let anyone that might be traveling through NY that New York has its own state-sponsored charging network called EVolveNY that you might not see in the Rivian app or Rivian in-vehicle navigation because of filtering errors or missing data.

These locations are well spaced for road trippers and operated by either Electrify America or EV Connect for the NY Power Authority which determines the rate (about $0.45/kWh in my recent experience). While most stalls are 150kW or more, Rivian has seemed to tag them all as 150kW which in the Rivian app puts them in the 50-150kW tier where they can easily be missed.

We used the EVolveNY chargers in Oneonta and they were great when we drove from PA to Cooperstown for Thanksgiving last year...I'd definitely search them out.

I've been trying out my A2Z adapter in local area and on the three occasions I've used is so fare each one was $0.70 kw/h. which is on the pricey side for sure.

The filtering issue is an interesting one. Seems like many stations are rated exactly 150 kWh, so that seems like an unfortunate cutoff point for the filter. Rivian should re-consider whether the cutoff should actually be <150 vs. >150. Small but critical difference.

Top tier should be >= 150kW and the Rivian app should allow you to select both 50-150 and 150-350 options to see all stations greater than 50kW. Then it would work like the vehicle filters and be more useful.

But the EVolve NY location in Schodack, NY is MIA, I guess some suggestions to the Rivian app dev team are in order.

EVolve NY DCFC/SC are $0.45 per kW. For some reason, some of them use the EV Connect app & others use the Electrified America app. Not sure why the split. I've been using them a ton in the past 90 days while working/driving every county in New State (one county per day...).

Just like running for governor.?

Perhaps we both wished they dropped one in Old Forge, this is the big hole in the network for access to the Adirondacks from the southwest.

Lol... I just worked Delaware County, NY last week & used this one in Amsterdam, NY that's not in the Rivian app (I just checked both 50kW & 150kW) ?
I started at south end of county & went straight up to Long Lake, NY (visited Hoss's County Corner Store & spent $100+) then headed east to interstate 87 & recharged at Tesla NACS req'd station in Chestertown, NY. I luv my Tarkus!!

Another one in Latham, NY is missing as well in the Rivian Database.

I just left the upgraded ones in Watertown, NY earlier today. They replaced the EVolve Chargers with ABB ones, but still are 150kW's. Crazy not to bump them to 350kW's?

They used to be managed by Shell Recharge, that must have not worked out with the NYPA so EV Connect seems to have gotten the contract.

Thanks for doing whatever you do on the 911 system, saw in another thread that your diet will soon be filled with lobster rolls.

I used one in Castle Creek about a year ago, I think there were 2x150kw and 2x350kw stations. I knew about them from someone else here posting about that spot. One of the two times I used it, it stopped charging early and gave an error and told me to try again. I think at that time, I wanted to get to 70%, got to 65% and got the error, and just decided to go to my next stop rather than try again or use another spot for 5%.
