Hi Rivian Community,

Taking delivery of my R1S in June and looking to outfit it with some great accessories. I would love to hear your recommendations and inputs on the following:
  1. EV Sport Running Boards: Heard these are good—any experiences or alternatives?
  2. Screen Covers: Best brands for fit and durability?
  3. Floor Mats: Looking for top-quality or nice-looking options. Any suggestions?
  4. Yellow Tow Hooks: Where to buy and ease of installation?
  5. Other Must-Haves: Any other great accessories I should consider?
Thanks for your input!

This is what I did -
1. Realwheels running board - it is stainless steel, no rust issues
2. Screen covers - twraps
3. Floor Mats- rivian oem plus For cargo, 3rd row back - I ordered 3dmax spider. They don't stick well on 3rd row back though. Frunk and trunk - best evmod
5. Others -
Bestev mod - Armrest Storage Box and Cup Holder Lower Center Console Organizer Tray. It was not expensive and OK.
Twraps- mudguard. I don't like fit. You could get better ones.
Adapters - tesla tap adapter for home charger
PPF - full car

Are you referring to the "Typhoon"? I'm not tracking that it's level 2 and 3 compatible.

Yeah, I didn't mean to push the Lectron over other brands - the point was about a level 2 adapter. The Lectron is just what I could easily search for in my past orders. I've edited to point out there are other brands.
No they have 2 different adapters for each level. Together and with RIV discount less than I paid for my teslatap a couple years ago. I'm really happy with their level 3 adapter works just as well as my Ford/Rivan level 3 OEM adapter.

Yes, great point for someone getting into EV's. A 15 foot certified cord isn't bad either for when being ICED if you have the room for trips.

For those using the Door Entries PPF - https://bit.ly/3NJqZ1m how have these held up? Are there any others that have tried other solutions (non-PPF) that are working well?

I thoguht that was expensive… so I bought a roll of 3m vinyl on eBay or Amazon around 6” wide. Cut to fit and make your own ppf door sills for much cheaper.

1. Sliders are another option if you wanted something a little “stronger”
2. screen covers: matte is my choice. I hate seeing finger printsBut you lose a little bit of sharpness/clarity. It helps with glare
3. skip the husky or weathertechs. Get some no name off brand Amazon ones. They do the same thing at a fraction of the cost
4. See below
5. Window tints all around including top roof and windhsield, upgraded horn because the stock single horn is muffled and weak, t7 ssd for gear guard, dedicated dash cam becuase the cameras are terrible quality for detail, Tesla to j1772 connector becusse your friends problsby have a Tesla level 2 charger you can use one day, radar detector and hardwire kit, replacement center console wireless charger (stowaway is the company name?? And soonish), mudflaps!!

2 and 4. Check AliExpress and Temu. Just search rivian r1s or rivian “xyz”. Most of Amazon’s rivian products are generic on AliExpress and Temu.

Thanks, everyone. Good stuff.

  1. RealWheels running board -- interesting alternative.

  2. I agree -- matte looks good: Matte Screen Protector. Is there an alternative brand, or are they mostly all the same?

  3. For floor mats, I am torn between these three options:
I think the first one has all mats even for the trunk and frunk, and I love the design.
  1. Yellow tow hooks: For those who have used or seen both, is there a difference in quality between these two?
The cost appears different. Is the more expensive one from Abstract Ocean better quality?
  2. For adapters, I went with the combo from A2Z: Adapter Combo.

Welcoming more suggestions! At the end, I will compile a list of the ones I went with/purchased.

No screen protectors here. Was on the fence then caught my kid dragging his baseball cleats on the rear screen and it survived without a scratch so figure I’ll roll the dice (not an iPhone screen protector guy either - just not a fan).

I did get the following:

Running boards
Interior storage liners
Second row and cargo floor liners
Top shelf frunk liner
MagSafe charger with storage
Locking drawer
Storage device for Gear Guard video
Right angle usb-c adapters

Ceramic windshield tint and front windows tinted made HUGE heat difference. Roof does not need tinted in my experience - good as-is on my 24.

Removed plastic black wheel covers and installed Rivian center caps

Top 3 for me have been: tint, running boards, locking drawer (never use the speaker).

Mostly personal preference on all these. Hope this helps. If you have any specific questions about any of these let me know.

Awesome list. I totally agree with the tints and appreciate the recs.

I am heavy debating which floor mats/liners to get! So many options!!
