No. The quad will have high performance Michelin Pilot Sports which are rated for higher speed. It feels like the only reason the Quad exists is to outdo the Cybertruck

It was a bit weird listening to the engineer explain why there are dual, tri, and quad motor setups. Seems overly complex and unnecessary. Quad for best off roading and to beat the cybertruck 0-60, dual for best efficiency. What exactly does the tri motor provide?

I would rather they have released a single motor and cut the price a bit.

Trimotor gives one a much faster option with pretty much the same range as a dual motor.

If one doesn’t plan on off-roading but just a very fast car, the Tri-motor would be perfect.

That's the new 20" all-season which, for some strange reason, is only an option on the Dual Standard config. Can't get it with the Large/Max/Tri.

Having watched a few other videos now, Kyle's is FAR better for any enthusiast, or really anyone familiar with Rivian at all. The others miss out on many of the important changes, don't include interviews with the knowledgeable Rivian engineers, waste viewer time by talking about things that haven't changed, and even get certain facts wrong.

Bravo @OutofSpecKyle 2 hours is a lot (I watched at 2x speed), but there was a lot of content to share.

When you get a chance for more hands on, I'll be keen to hear more about charging curve, and hoping for thermal limitations to be less of an issue with the redesigned battery packs.

That’s a bit cynical. They have invested a ton of R&D into their quad system so it would be more odd if they walked away from it.

Plus it creates a new, higher-priced flagship for the true believers. And it shares the rear engines with the tri which will be used extensively in R1-3.
