Can you ask him if they started a closed beta going forward so that it doesn’t show up early anymore? or is this only because of the new refresh that it was extra stealthy?Neighbor is a beta tester and he is on the third version of 24.19.xx. None of the three versions had release notes. All had the new UI graphics, blindspot camera view... and that's all I can remember.
He doesn't know. Only about 1000 beta testers in the program. He gets them as OTAs for his personal car just like regular updates, just more often. This was the first set without release notes and he wasn't sure why.Can you ask him if they started a closed beta going forward so that it doesn’t show up early anymore? or is this only because of the new refresh that it was extra stealthy?
I guess this means that the blind spot camera is coming to the Gen1 R1?All had the new UI graphics, blindspot camera view... and that's all I can remember.
We were convinced yes... then different people at Rivian started saying things to the contrary. The work has already been done, so they should just release it.I guess this means that the blind spot camera is coming to the Gen1 R1?
Blind spot camera is definitely coming to gen1. Wassym flat out said it was in the 2 hour video out of spec posted on it today. We were convinced yes... then different people at Rivian started saying things to the contrary. The work has already been done, so they should just release it.
They just got another revision OTA update yesterday. This copy had release notes, so probably start pushing OTA updates very "sOOn"...I guess this means that the blind spot camera is coming to the Gen1 R1?
Maybe Monday as they seem to start at the beginning of the week. If Gen 1.2 vehicles are starting to sell they need the new software given that’s what’s displayed on the website and all the reviews. They just got another revision OTA update yesterday. This copy had release notes, so probably start pushing OTA updates very "sOOn"...
Does he have a gen1 vehicle or gen2?They just got another revision OTA update yesterday. This copy had release notes, so probably start pushing OTA updates very "sOOn"...
Both are confirmed to be coming to Gen 1 nowTo not release blind spot camera and ambient lighting to Gen 1 owners, especially early adopters, seems very petty and unbecoming of the brand. Do we need those? No, prob not, but they should still release them and let us decide our use case.

He has a December 2022 built R1T and whatever test vehicle he has that day. He hasn't brought a Gen 2 vehicle home yet, because up until the reveal, they required that all Gen 2's be camoflaged /zebra wrapped and had to be covered if left out in public. He didn't want the hassle of dealing with the car cover, so he hasn't driven the R2's outside of official testing.Does he have a gen1 vehicle or gen2?
