Edit: Worth noting they pulled the Tesla Plaid as it was overheating and derating 3 minutes into the run during testing.
It's worth noting that last year a Plaid Model S with stock powertrain beat the Rivian's time this year by a full minute. It sounds like they were trying to cobble together some cooling improvements but couldn't even match what the stock Tesla powertrain did.

The 2025 Hyundai Ioniq in the same class beat the Rivian by a whopping 1.25 minutes!
Those two Ioniq N's were modified with new suspension and aero. The stick was 4 seconds faster.

Given the weight difference, that the R1T is that close to the N is nuts to me.

Exactly. The Ioniq 5N is a perfect comparison. The stock vehicle ran 10:49, but the TA Spec (stock powertrain with aero, brakes, tires, and suspension) ran 9:30. Aero, tires, and suspension make a massive difference.

The Unplugged Performance Model S is closer to the Ioniq 5N TA specs which ran the 9:30.

Also to note, the Ioniq 5N TA beat the Unplugged Model S Plaid's best time by 24 seconds with 400 less horsepower.

Quite impressive yes, although the new Quad has ~347HP more. If anyone knows the exact weight of both the 5N Modded and the Rivian Quad, cook up the power to weight difference?

Looks wild. It's neat for sure, but I think what really steals the show are the two mechanically stock cars that so happen to be EVs, that so happen be crushing heavily modded ICE cars in this challenge.

What's even more crazy is how slick the track was. I would love to see both the R1T Quad and IONIQ 5N to redo the climb in optimal conditions.

Rivian and Hyundai. ?

And isn't Model S at least 2,500 lbs lighter than the R1T?
Not sure if all are, I know my 2016 weighs in at 4500 pounds so it is 2500 less than my R1S.
