Hey guys, sorry for the delay on an update here. Contract negotiations with SAG to hire talented actors to play our engineers in this video were just really time consuming...



The basic points there are:
- Across 1300 miles of testing, Ben Moon is reporting a range reduction of 10 percent. That's twice as good as the official Rivian Yakima-on-a-rack setup, but we think we can do (a lot) better.

- We're pushing back delivery timelines by six weeks, but also working to reduce that as much as possible.

- This shouldn't change pricing.

Great update! Appreciate the transparency and efforts you all are putting into delivering a top-notch product!

For planning purposes, when do you expect all of us with reservations to start hearing from the sales team to lock down delivery dates, options, and $$? If deliveries stay on target for mid-september, would you expect the sales team calls to be 2 weeks prior to that? A month? I was an august reservation holder so just trying to figure out some Fall vacation plans and how they fit around driving to Montana =)

Ben's point is about how close the camper sits to the cab roof, and so range is affected less than otherwise. There is no mention here about how Driver+ and other communications are or are not affected. Did I miss it elsewhere in the video or am I looking at the wrong video?

The video I just embedded in today's update.

Shark fins are nothing new for us. And the Rivian fin, other than being really tall, isn't doing anything new or different than others. It's just receiving radio signals. The floor and roof of our camper is made from a honey comb composite that's mostly air, and totally transparent to radio waves.

Driver Plus, satellite radio, over the air updates, Bill Gates' 5G chip monitoring via measles vaccines, etc etc are all able to work in totally unimpaired form.

Talked to sales and they say you should expect a call around end of August. Just want to make sure you've seen final product and we're 110 percent good to go before taking your money.

Lemme know if you need help planning that vacation. Mid September is the absolute best time of the year to visit.

One thing mentioned in the video I noticed was the need to make the bed release accessible inside.
Any reason why you added that functionality vs just using the existing in bed release button?

Super excited for this to start coming out. I haven’t gotten my R1T but i literally would not have gotten one if this wasn’t in the works. I do residential construction and a topper of some sort is a must. Currently I have an ARE topper in a Tacoma and I have been telling myself for a few years that the next truck gets a GFC.
